Summary

When a light aircraft crash-lands at Machrie airport, Daley and Scott rush to the scene. But it soon becomes clear that both occupants of the plane were dead before take-off.... Meanwhile, tending to his lobster creels, Hamish finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, and back at the County Hotel, Annie is beginning to suspect her new boss Ian Macmillan may not be as he first appeared.

A face from the past has returned to haunt Carrie Symington, but is it a case of better the devil you know?

Daley and Scott find themselves battling retired terrorists and radical climate-change activists as the action spills across the North Channel to County Antrim - all under the scrutiny of the Security Services. Faced with so many questions, how will Daley uncover good from bad, right from wrong? The search is on for any other truth.

A welcome return of old friends

I am well bought into the regular characters of this series. These latest exploits of Jim Daley, Brian Scot and old Hamish do not disappoint. Aside from the sympathy for the victims of the featured crimes, there is an unexpectedly sad twist affecting the regular line up.

David Monteath is superb, as ever, and his narration brings additional colour to the main characters. I hope it’s not too long until our next visit to Kinloch!

Terrorism is alive and active

This is a really good listen. Hopping around Scottish Islands, two dead men landing a plane, and a pub take over. There is lots of action here, well worth listening to. Very well narrated too. A real eye opener.

Just sublime

As always, great story, great narration. Honestly can’t go wrong with this series.
In my eyes another masterpiece from the talented Mr Meyrick.
By now we know and adore the cast, they are like dear friends, rejoining them in the next instalment is always a pleasure. If you stumble across this book before the others, I urge you to read the series. You will not be disappointed.

Fantastic

listened to the whole series and they've given me hours of pleasure. Complex believable plots, superb characterisations, laugh out loud humour. Just bereft I'm upto date, gonna have to wait until June for the next installment. fingers crossed the audible version will be released at the same time. David Monteath is an absolute joy and reins supreme amongst narrators. recommended the series to my father and he's totally hooked.

For any other truth

Found that I lost track of all the characters at times. I enjoy this series but this one is my least favourite

Had a bad feeling 😞

Excellent story, great plot with many twists and turns. The ending, however, left me feeling bereft and I got a sense throughout something bad was going to happen.

Narrator excellent as always

The story for me was a bit convoluted, but I did enjoy listening. The series is excellent.
