The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Great points, not a good audible book

Summary
The latest no-f**ks-given guide from New York Times best-selling author of the international sensation The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F**k, Get Your Sh*t Together and You Do You.
Do you waste time overthinking things you can't do anything about?
Do you freak out when things don't go to plan?
Does anxiety get in the way of you living your best life?
When life hands you a big fat f**king lemon, Calm the F**k Down gives you practical ways to manage the situation, not to mention your anxiety about the situation. One hundred percent practical and 0 percent Pollyanna-ish, this is a book that acknowledges all the bad shit that can and probably will happen to you - from breakups and breakdowns to floods, family feuds and France running out of butter - and shows you what you can realistically do about it so you can get on with your life, stop worrying and wallowing and start bouncing back.
Think of Calm the F**k Down as the friend who, instead of reassuring you that 'everything's going to be okay', actually shows you how to make it so.

Adore Sarah Knight but this is not her best!
I have all of Sarah Knights both in Audible and Hard copy (including this one) but I feel like a lot of the content was peoples pointless tweets and her response to them. I adore Life changing magic, you do you and get your shit together but I doubt I'll be coming back to this one. 😔

This book is not worth two f**ks.
O.M.G a dumb b*tch asking you not to give a f**k about the most ordinary trivial sh*t. Endlessly referencing her husband, her small time lifestyle problems and how she managed to get a tarantula out of her house. Very tiring 'oh I'm a funny writer creating my own buzz words, while also being very humble in a sassy way. I use bad language because that shows how I've had to overcome things.'
This is like getting life advice from Cher in Clueless. A typical example is 'Should I tell my friend that she has bad 'bangs' and ruin our friendship.' Daaah! Just in case you are going through some of life's real problems that people do encounter, like: life changing illnesses, losing your job and the end of your career, overwhelming financial problems after you've used up all you rainy day money, messy break ups or divorce, the death of family or friends, you, your partner or your kids who go off the rails and make bad life choices, drugs, alcohol, gambling, violence, then this book is pretty useless. The ideal audience for this is young women just starting out in life who are making the transition from learning to fly to actually being an adult. Maybe someone who has 'survived' organising their wedding or giving birth to their first child. Not much advice for those who has been kicked when punched down to the ground.

I did not find this helpful
I listened to the whole thing in the vain hope there would be some tiny nugget of useful advice. Any relevant, helpful suggestions could have been delivered in 4 minutes and were so eye-wateringly obvious I personally I find it hard to imagine anyone who would not instinctively react that way to a difficult situation

A totall miss for me
This is probably the most annoying audiobook I have ever listened to and the first one I choose not to finish. What started as slightly funny humour became terribly annoying and the writing style is crass. The constant promotion of next books rather than focusing on making this one work it tacky. Definitely a miss for me.
