Publisher's Summary

These Royals will ruin you...From wharf fights and school brawls to crumbling lives inside glittery mansions, one guy tries to save himself.

Reed Royal has it all - looks, status, money. The girls at his elite prep school line up to date him, the guys want to be him, but Reed never gave a damn about anyone but his family until Ella Harper walked into his life.

What started off as burning resentment and the need to make his father's new ward suffer turned into something else entirely - keep Ella close. Keep Ella safe. But when one foolish mistake drives her out of Reed's arms and brings chaos to the Royal household, Reed's entire world begins to fall apart around him.

Ella doesn't want him anymore. She says they'll only destroy each other.

She might be right.

Secrets. Betrayal. Enemies. It's like nothing Reed has ever dealt with before, and if he's going to win back his princess, he'll need to prove himself Royally worthy.

Warning: This book ends in a cliffhanger.

    "It's like a train wreck"

You want to stop cause the story isn't really that great, the characters are not that memorable, and it's a but too predictable, however, if you have a curious bone in you unfortunately can't stop till your at the end and shocked you made it that far. Hell it's smut, better than most smut, but still smut.

"Female narrator ruined it for me"
Would you be willing to try another one of Angela Goethals and Zachary Webber ’s performances?

Zachary Webber, definitely. He is always fantastic and sold me on Reed. Angelea Goethais, never again. I read the first book in the series and really enjoyed it. In the written version, I read Ella as such a feisty strong character. This narrator read her parts in a depressed monotone and SO SLOWLY. Ella sounded drugged or half asleep. It completely ruined the story for me.

    Any additional comments?

Right at the start of the book, one of the characters was incredibly mean and manipulative and another character just completely fell for it. He didn't use his brains to solve the problem and came across as weak and stupid. I know it drives the plot, but if felt over the top.

I may try to finish this book in written form. As much as I love Zachary Webber, I just can't listen to female narrator anymore. I'm returning.

    "Good story, Bad recording"
Would you try another book from Erin Watt and/or Angela Goethals and Zachary Webber ?

    yes

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I felt both narrators were very good. However I did need to adjust the speed each time it changed narrator. The woman spoke much much slower than the man. It was annoying to keep changing the speed. But I did like the story.

    "Oh good Lord woman!"

love the story, loved the guys voice, liked the girls voice but seriously what's with the 3 second pause every sentence!?! I tried speeding it up but she talks plenty fast and he is fine, it's soooo annoying, not sure I can finish this.

    "Bad ending"

I didn't care for the way the ending leaves you hanging. I didn't like it in the first book and like it even less in the second. Other than that it is a enjoyable book.

    "Oh. My. God."
What did you love best about Broken Prince?

Reed!! Definitely Reed!! He's just my perfect kind of book boyfriend. I love this book has his POV so I can get into his head and fall more and more in love with him... *sigh*
I love how tenacious he was about getting Ella's love back. I love how open he was to her about his feelings and fears. I love how much he loves his family. I love how much he loves Ella and how much he is capable of doing for her. *deep sigh*
Reed is my man now.... <3

Who was your favorite character and why?

Aside from Reed, I love Ella. She's a badass!! Oh. My. God. People should think twice before messing with her. She's the boss and now everybody knows it.

What about Angela Goethals and Zachary Webber ’s performance did you like?

They both are amazing narrators. I love their accepts, inflexions and most of all, how they are able to put so much emotion in every character they are speaking for. Both their performances were perfection. Plus, Zachary Webber!! <3 He's the best :)

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The Royals will save you... or destroy you...

    Any additional comments?

I'm so obsessed with this series!! My feelings for all the characters in this series are so strong I can't even concentrate on anything else but this series and I LOVE IT!! Can't wait to get my hands on the next book!!

    "I gave this book a B+-Narration/C+-Story"

Broken Prince is the second book in the young/new adult trilogy, The Royals. I have to admit that I enjoyed book 1, Paper Princess, more than this second installment. In particular, I think book 2 suffered a bit from middle book syndrome. I felt like the plot line somewhat stalled throughout most of the book in one of my least preferred tropes, “the big misunderstanding.” It really wasn’t until nearly the end that I felt that the plot moved along with an interesting twist which should make Book 3, Twisted Palace, hopefully more riveting and likely different from the first two books. Fortunately, the narration was solid, which generally enhances the experience – that makes audio a good format to enjoy the story.

The story picks up where book 1 leaves off. Ella storms out of the Royal palace, after catching Reed, who she thought was her boyfriend, with his father’s girlfriend (Brooke) in his bedroom in what appears to be a compromising position. Heartbroken Ella runs away and disappears for a while.

Meanwhile, Reed is devastated. Not only is he being blackmailed by Brooke (who is threatening to pin him with her pregnancy if he doesn’t convince his father to marry her), but he is also missing Ella, who he has come to truly care for, notwithstanding their rough beginning in Paper Princess.

When Ella finally returns, however, she refuses to believe Reed’s version of what happened, instead believing that he has been playing her all this time. Things at the pretentious private school they all attend begin to get even worse for Ella as Reed’s depression and apathy leads to him to stop trying to police the school’s inhabitants. The power vacuum basically gives them a green light to start disparaging Ella again.

Can Reed somehow find a way to get Ella to believe that his feelings are true? Even if he does, will Ella give him a second chance? Moreover, will they be able to stop Brooke in her plot to convince Reed’s father to marry her?

    "First book was better"

I liked the first book better, this one seemed short and had little plot movement. It was a nice continuation in the story, but aside from the last 7 minutes, you didn't really learn anything new.
