Those fluffy white trails crisscrossing the sky - some say they are simply water vapor frozen into crystals. Others say they are deadly chemicals, some of which are for military defense, and others to control the weather and the world’s food supply. Walt has no idea what the box contains but is told that in the right hands it could be a blessing to mankind, but in the wrong hands, a curse. Walt is charged with the safekeeping of the box, but at what expense? Others who have come in contact with the box are dead. At some point, Walt must decide whether the contents of the box are worth risking the lives of those closest to him.

Walt and Maggie purchase a run-down mansion with plans to restore it to its former grandeur, not knowing that every previous owner had suffered a terrible tragedy due to a centuries-old curse. During the restoration, the mysterious mansion reveals dark secrets that have been hidden away for decades. As restless spirits and hidden corpses are found, Walt and Maggie fear they may become the next victims of the evil curse.

Walt has a mysterious box hidden in his safe. He has been told it contains a device that can be either a blessing or a curse to mankind depending on who possesses it. Dr. Skinner comes to Kansas City and convinces Walt that he will use the device for altruistic endeavors. But others covet the device for more clandestine purposes. It is the classic confrontation of good vs. evil. The question is: Which one will possess the device in the end?

When terrorists plot to blow up five of the country’s ammunition plants, Lady Justice calls on Quirky Arlo Quimby as her newest recruit. But Arlo himself becomes a target due to his association with a controversial and unorthodox group. Once again, Walt finds himself knee-deep in conspiracies and assassins.

The Russian mob recruited a hired gun from New York, and the guy looked exactly like Walt Williams. This uncanny resemblance landed Walt in the dog house with his wife, the cops, and the Italian mob. It takes all Walt’s skill and cunning to stave off an all-out war between the Russians and Italians and undo the damage wrought by his evil twin.

On his deathbed, the 90-year-old former bookkeeper for the Kansas City mafia names Walt as the successor trustee on his Living Trust. An unsuspecting Walt soon discovers that his duties include keeping an eye on the heirs, who must complete some very specific tasks before claiming their inheritance. When things start to go south, Walt soon learns that the heirs will resort to anything, including murder, to get their hands on their grandfather’s money.

Walt is surprised to learn that his old partner, Ox, has a brother. Ox had never mentioned Lenny who was serving time in prison. Ox was just as surprised when Lenny showed up at his door claiming he had found religion and turned his life around. He was even more surprised to learn that his brother, the bad seed of the family, was now an ordained minister. As Lenny’s ministry grows by leaps and bounds, Walt and his friends are skeptical. Was Lenny’s conversion real or is it an elaborate con? Walt is faced with the age-old question - can people really change? What do you think?

Walt discovers a manuscript hidden in the false bottom of a cabinet Maggie bought at a craft fair. The manuscript, written by a woman named Lenore, tells the tragic story of a life filled with abuse, incest, and finally, murder. Drawn in by the story, Walt becomes entangled with members of the family whose lives mirror characters in many of Edgar Allen Poe’s Gothic novels.

Walt has his hands full battling animal abusers and a loan shark threatening to lop off a client’s pinky. But the real test comes when a landlord asks Walt to help him sue Kansas City, which has passed the Tenant Bill of Rights. This bill makes people with evictions and criminal records a protected class. Due to this new ordinance, a rent dodger with a history of evictions has moved into a client’s building.
