Wow. Just Wow!!

I don’t know how you do it. I was completely captivated for the whole book, and the main characters weren’t in this story. Boss, you are a master at work.

Best character in this book was Mary. She is a red head, not a ginger p*@ck. that line is on par with the jimmy car line. In an earlier book.

Joe Jameson, you did a fantastic job narrating. Another listener said they applauded the nd of the book. I too applauded the end of this book.

Hard

Again more brilliance from RR Haywood although of the series I found this episode the hardest to read and as I got closer on my re-read through I found myself dreading it more & more. This being exacerbated by the fact that we don’t hear anything from Howie & the gang, probably still coming down.
Of all the anti-heroes in all the books I’ve ever read I hate Tommy the absolute most.
Evil, manipulative & stupid, yeah Lily, for now anyway.

Another fantastic book.

R R Haywood is one of the few British jewels England has to offer. his writing is nothing more than magical, with each book and in each chapter his is able to convey such emotions that as a reader you feel them too. Gods help the walking dead series should someone turn this series of brilliant books into a live TV series as thanks to the humour of the characters and the pure British essence in the story it would easily top it. beautifully written, excellent story and just an overall masterpiece just like the previous stories in this series. Well done Mr Haywood.

So so brilliant

Another amazing addition to this long saga. I need more. Throughly enjoyed this alternative take on the story. If you want a series to get stuck into then this is a MUST!!!!

5* series obsessed

Amazing narrator with many many voices but I think one of my favourite voices is Pamela hilarious. All of the voices bring this fantastic series to life. Great storyline that should never be allowed to end

loved it. could be a wee bit gay for Mary meself!

loved it. good that new characters were introduced and to delve deeper into life at the fort. at times i fins lily extremely irritating but with Mary shes much more likeable. infact i could be a wee bit gay for Mary meself tho maybe just a crush. hurry and bring put part 20 please!!

Not the best but by far the most realistic

I know that people are complaining about the lack of Howie and co, which is fair. But this book focuses on the fort and the struggles there. It is by far the most realistic book in the series as it is ordinary people that are the villains.

Let's be honest, if the world did end in the manner of The Undead, anyone who looks different would be the first to be blamed, and people would be fearful. Tommy therefore becomes a believable character by exploiting these fears. My only criticism is that him and Pam are the stereotypical racists, and once again the good guys are all beautiful.

Lily shows her youth in this one too with Nick, which is nice to see as it once more makes it believable.

If there is one thing that Haywood is a master at, it's writing villains who you despise. That's what he did in the army base, and that's what he does here with Tommy, Pam and Lisa. I genuinely found myself getting absolutely livid with their actions!

Could this book have been spread out over the last few books? Yes. Does it work well on it's own? Also yes.

Still superb- ignore the brexit reviews….

Superb.
Wasn’t sure if I’d like this given the reviews, but it feels like they’ve totally missed the point. Our wonderful nation is made from many wonderful nations. There are those that see that, and, asking questions, embrace it. And those that sing ‘rule Britannia’ without knowing the real words.
It’s not overly PC. It’s recognising that there are huge swathes of British folk under represented so far. And it’s recognising the general awkwardness, wonderfully, as only Richard can.

Excellent book. Deals with very human issues.
And it takes a bloody brilliant book to divert the story from a huge cliffhanger and still make it un-put-downable.

And the narration is getting better with every book. I was a little unsure to start with, but after I got over my ‘that’s not Dave’ wobble, it now IS Dave, and the rest of the cast came alive. Some new characters I really like in this one, too.
