He's done it again

How Mr Haywood manages to come up with such great ideas for The Undead, again and again, is fantastic. I loved this day, number 29, in the life of Howie and Co. The format of having them all narrate the story as if writing a diary was a great idea. I can't wait for the next day to be released. Please Rich, can you hurry it up? Thanks.

The worst by far

Was so looking forward to this after a long break but was so disappointed. The story seemed to be a bit disjointed and doesn’t really progress. The jokes were a little irritating particularly the mayonnaise one which wasn’t funny the first time let alone after 30 references. The narrator was particularly poor on this also and the macaws voice had me reaching for a paracetamol! Hopefully just a dip.

Can’t get enough!!!!!

Now the wait is on. Think I’m going to go back to the beginning and listen again. Yes it was that good! Can he write a bad book? I think not! The end battle was epic.

phew

was that hot or what!!
it seems like a long time to wait for "a next installment" as a listener of the written word, but so worth the wait. To travel to a place where old friends are hugged, kissed and caught up with, a beautiful feeling. fear as we travel with them through their individual perspective on the next part of their life journey where hoardes are waiting and plans are executed. To hate certain people ( they are no longer character's in a book) and love others. To wonder where a certain person is at certain parts of the story, wanting the whole "birds eye view" we get it here.
My fix was deeply satisfied but as I drew nearer and nearer to the end I took my time savouring each chapter, knowing that it must end but not wanting to leave.
I now long for my next fix of The best series ever, it was nice. if I had a magic f@ck stick I would wish I had never read it but had just come across it for the first time. To hear Reginald swear made me think "oh my" that's when we all join the hive mind "fuck 'em we'll win" or was it "fuck it?" not sure which hive I actually belong too??
excellent read . Going back in, to start again. It really is that kind of book. Thanks Boss

A grand day out but nothing achieved.

Another page turner for the jokes and action that don't wear out for me personally.

Worst narration performance by far in the series. Typically a narrator I enjoy but the mixed up voices in this are more numerous and irritating.

The story doesn't progress at all.

Heather and Paco sections are boring.

The zombies that used to be able to stop the Saxon quite easily are now just mown down with ease. They seem to grow in number but not intelligence in this book.

There is no resolution to the Howie & Henry situation but there wouldn't be after a day - why would there be? Although the whole theme and point of the book seems to be set around that so ultimately the plot doesn't even achieve what it set out do - other than lazily writing Henry into the hive mind which is pretty cheap.

No need to cram all of that into a single day. The tempo didn't even feel like a day. Due to the sublimely ridiculous situations I still found this to be an earworm and finished it in just under 2 working days. Enjoyed but a very weak entry - not my best day ever.

An emotional ride

I had waited a long time for this book and it didn’t disappoint! I laughed, I cried (a lot), I held my breath and I hoped it wouldn’t end. But alas the wait begins for the next chapter, and all I can say is thanks to Joe Jamison and RR Haywood for an amazing listen.

Going further Downhill

What started as a great story in book 1 has become completely shark jumping disappointment.

The Boss Never Disappoints!

I had already read the The Heat but wanted to listen to it as well as Joe Jameson does such a fantastic job on all the voices. I have heard all the series and can only anticipate each new book when done. This has everything you could ever want, like a block buster movie in my head. Zombies, action, intrigue, friendship heartbreaking ups and downs and the ending or the ending, you will have to experience it for yourself!

RR Haywood did not disappoint!

I absolutely flew through this book. I love the characters and the story line.

A few things I could critique (just my opinion of course) would be that Tappy seemed to become more like Blinky's character in this book (bouncy/ADD/ immature/spoke in a rush) . I liked how Tappy was written in when she first appeared in the book before.

I always felt that the previous books were mostly drama , suspense, and horror with just the right amount of humor sprinkled in whereas this book seemed to go overboard with the humor and banter at times.

Didn't care for the repetitiveness that comes with the "diary" keeping either.

Those things being said, absolutely loved the book and was hanging on every word

The Saxon on the Blacktop!!

Even through all these books and story arcs, this author is still wonderfully inventive and creative. The cheer-out-loud moments are still there. The characters are as clever and funny as ever, and the humor never seems forced or contrived. Makes me think that Haywood and the people in his life must also be so clever and funny!
Joe Jameson? Great as ever. So many voices. He’s the kind of reader that has you searching for new books by narrator.
