Summary

A new time-travel thriller from Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Amazon and Audible best-selling author R. R. Haywood. Creator of the smash-hit time-travel series Extracted and the UK’s number one horror series The Undead.

A man falls from the sky. He has no memory. He has no sense of self. What lies ahead are a series of tests, each more brutal than the last, and if he gets through them all, he might just reach a town called Discovery.

Absolutely brilliant as usual.

I’ve just finished this and again Richard has played a blinder. The story is very good and the action set pieces are really cool. But it’s in the dialogue where Mr Haywood truly excels I genuinely laughed out load while listening to this. Overall another excellent story from the prolific RR Heywood. Anyone who’s listened to the extracted series will recognise Carl Precop and seeing as this is a book with the central premise of time travel it feels very familiar, Carl’s narration is as good here as it was in extracted.

Cringe dialogue

I felt like it was trying too hard to be funny. I didn't find it funny at all, it was too forced. All the characters were just cringe worthy and annoying. Couldn't even finish the book.

It’s a total rip off

I’ll start by saying I loved the Extracted series, loved the story and the characters and loved the way it was narrated.. A Town Called Discovery is a like story made up from some of the left overs from the Extracted series populated by a set of Frankenstein characters assembled from various bits of the Extracted characters to produce a sad shadow of that series. Take Bear for example he’s made from various parts taken from Mad Harry and Ben Ryder. It doesn’t stop there many of the voices used along with the dialogue are rehashes of those used in the Extracted series. Why?
This could have been a good story if it didn’t just rip off so many elements from Extracted. Having Prekopp narrate was a big mistake, not that’s he does a bad job......it’s that he does the very same job as he did so well for the Extracted series!
I really feel I’ve been conned and am a bit miffed by RR Haywood and Audible for allowing such a rip off to be published.

Mind boggling matrix crossed with umbrella academy

I'm not sure what to say about this book, I had to get to the end and I listened to it in one day, so I must have enjoyed it. I found some characters really funny especially our main character, I'm still not sure if I understand this book, I did enjoy but it's like when you watch a film and get to the end thinking.... What was that.... So yes loved it, didn't get it all, find some parts so funny. I didn't enjoy the repetitive parts, I wish there was a better way to portray that. Main points to consider, there's romance, horror, comedy, mind boggling and some good ol fashion English comments funny.

Awesome Buttercup

If you like any other RR Haywood books, you'll love this. The only problem I have is you finish it too quickly.

Oh my days! This one has that dynamic edge!

There are many Fantastic books, but this one is special, a little weird to start with but within a very short moment in time you are drawn into one of the best reads of your life! Drew out a range of emotions.
Dr = found myself crying with laughter (stomach hurt too) and continued laughing 5 minutes after the scene had moved on.
Can’t wait for the next instalment!

I love RR Haywood, but this is awful!

2020 is a bad year for everyone and I am hoping that it is just a bad time for R R Haywood because this book is awful ...I have given up on chapter 5 ...bored! It’s been a year with time to spare, but I can’t carry on with this, even if it might improve later.
