Summary

The teenage son of front-running US presidential candidate Senator JE Blackman is found horribly murdered in a Manchester apartment. Blackman knows that if the intimate details of the crime become public, his political ambitions will be in ruins. There can be no arrests, no trial.

The senator is one of the world’s richest men. Wealthy enough to make Washington dance to his tune and demand the CIA solve his problem. Their solution? Find a deniable operative. A man who knows the city and its criminal underworld. A man who will seek out the killers and dispose of them without a second thought. A damaged ex-SAS hero who will do anything if the price is right. A man called Rick Fuller.

Slightly disappointed

Having listened to all the other Rick Fuller books I was excited when this one was recently released.
As usual the characters are well described and the narrator does a good job of helping to understand their various personalities.
The story carries on naturally from the previous book and is quite gripping and not too easy to work out.
My grumble is that it all ends very quickly as though, in this case, the author either ran out of ideas or just got bored. I wanted to it to carry on rather longer as I like the way the stories are told in their individual parts by each of the main characters. It almost felt like it was the end of part one with part two to follow.

Wide open for part 2....or maybe part 3

The guyreading these books does a great job with the different voices.

The story is clear and easy to follow and you can build a picture of what is happening looking forward to the next instalment

Rick Fuller & Co what a crew!!

Well I’m four books in and totally hooked. The narrator is awesome the characters become almost real in your minds eye. The plot is convoluted and interwoven.

Well worth a listen

Another brilliant story in the series.

This is another gripping story in the Rick Fuller series. What makes it even better is the excellent way in which it is narrated by Nicholas Camm. I cannot imagine any other narrator who could do a better job. I'm already eagerly looking forward to the next book in the series.

disappointing

after 3 insightful well written books this felt hurried and lacked the previous depth of emotion. it kinda felt like the Lord of Rings trilogy if films where to extend the franchise they split the third film into two, I was left thinking there must be a part II to this book. hopefully the next book will regain my admiration because at the moment I'm just left feeling like the editor said "give me another book" awsome performance as always

leaving it open for a follow on

I enjoy the characters in this series and the book continues in the same vein as its predecessors, but and it's a biggish but, the ending was too abrupt, leaving the reader to think well what next. Perhaps it's to allow for a follow up
