Summary

They thought they could get away with murder, but then Keeler showed up.

Ex-Special Forces operator Tom Keeler is a rambling man. He’s just passing through the town of Alencourt, France, and in less than an hour, someone tries to kill him. Nice place, nice try. But it’s a case of mistaken identity, and they picked the wrong guy. The French police can’t be trusted, except for the beautiful Cecile Nazari. She finds out fast that keeping up with Keeler is a dangerous occupation. Because someone’s preying on the weak and unprotected. Someone murderous. But they never counted on coming up against a guy like Keeler.

Great listening

I really enjoyed listening to this book. I’ve read all the Reacher books and enjoyed them too. Not surprised at the similarities. I thought Jack Lively wrote well for an old famous baseball pitcher.

Reacher copycat with less pace and depth

Compete and unashamed Reacher rip-off. Not quite the same pace or depth as early Reacher and unfortunately similar indiscriminate killings without sufficient justifications, as per recent Reacher novels. It was a pretty good book but it would have been better without the rip off as the premise and story was strong enough without mimicking the Reacher narrative.

Jack Reacher MKII

I’m a couple of hours into it. But it’s basically a Jack reacher story, even Tom’s mother is French. I guess there are slight differences, he at least carries a bag in this book.
So, so far it’s an easy listen, like I say, so far very similar to reacher. Even the style. And the story has all the same signs. I’ll maybe do another review once I’ve finished.

Very reacher

Deffo feels like reacher, partly because of Jeff Hardings (excellent) narration.
takes a while to get going story wise though

I agree with the other reviews!

I enjoyed the book, and am convinced it is written by Lee Child! It couldn't be more like Jack Reacher if it tried! If the author isn't him and really is by Jack Lively, then it is a complete copycat.

Not Not Reacher

;-) just for those MBOTF fans

I chuckled when I noted the title of the next book, especially with the narrator. I had to keep reminding myself it was not Reacher and had trouble imagining the main Not Reacher character. I liked the book and the narration was very good. Minor complaint was when the voice was switched to a female, I had trouble hearing it. Small point.

Review

Not quite a Jack Reacher but along the same lines, not bad,has the same misfortune as Reacher, trouble finds him or dose he find trouble ?

Fabulous !

Jeff Harding at his best with a character and story almost indistinguishable from Reacher. (Hurriedly buying extra credits in order to purchase the rest of the series).

France meets the Wild West

A Jack Reacher style book, it was a bit of a silly plot but I still enjoyed it.
