purely condescending

spends a long time explaining all the different ways people with low EQ are so much worse than people with high EQ. other books are far better at helping you rather than belittling you.

Helpful Book!!!

It would enable you to view your automatic thoughts from a different perspective, basically giving you more insight into them. The thing is, negative and uncomfortable situations aren't things we can simply walk away from-but knowing how to deal with them properly is a good start.

Narration is very good.

Emotional Intelligence and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy + Hygge: 5 Manuscripts of Ryan James and Amy White contains a lot of helpful hints on how to rewire or retrain your brain in order to change how you see and feel certain difficulties that happen in your life. It is of great importance.

Effective

Very pleased with this purchase! I haven't been able to go to a therapist in quite some time but I've already received more from this book in two weeks than I have from probably ALL of my past therapists combined. Well, one specific therapist excluded, but he was amazing!

Author nailed it....

I enjoy this book because it offers tools for self help, alongside understanding. I am still going back to listen, write things down and work on the exercises!

Only for those with situational depression

Honestly, for me, this box set was a complete waste of time and money. It's nothing new or groundbreaking, just a guy that has light-to-moderate depression and anxiety that's presenting what worked for *him*. He only researched, and has personal anecdotes, that's it.

Unfortunately, if you're any form of Bi Polar, manic depressive, autistic or otherwise chemically imbalanced, this absolutely is not for you. Everything that's stated within can be found on Buzzfeed and those clones under mental health. You're far, FAR better off with the David Burns tomes than this generic waste of time.

Really, if I had the physical book, it would be of the "shove it into someone's stomach with force, and in my best Pleakly voice (see: Lilo and Stitch) say 'here, educate yourself!' and leave it at that" kind of book.

As I said, it's not for those who are chemically imbalanced; it's for their loved ones to help them try to get a grade two understanding of what a chemically imbalanced depressive is going through. I got nothing out of it at all. I still have the fifth book to listen to but...I think I will skip it, if it's as over-generalised as the first four books.
