Got What I Wanted

Five stars because I was looking for something more practical than theoretical and this book delivered. Might not be the best book for someone who really wants to understand the theory behind cbt, but I was looking for practical things I could implement in my life and that's exactly what this book has to offer.

Wonderful

This book I needed to read again as I went through a cognitive behavioral therapy class a year ago and I still have so much to learn and have forgotten since I had attended. There are things that I don't communicate effectively with anymore when it comes to my marriage and it is very hard and I also procrastinate more than I ever used you is not like me.

Exactly What I Needed

Let's face it. If you are human you've probably experienced overwhelm at least once. If CBT is indicated, this book will help, along with an experienced clinician of course.

Very Enriching

This book is extremely well done. As an individual trained in CBT, I can say that it is very accurate to the school and methodology. It explains things very well, in a way that is understandable to people who don't know a lot about the field, in fact I have quoted from it in therapy sessions to help explain concepts to clients.

It's very easy to read and understand

It's very easy to read and understand. I really enjoy how they took into consideration that everyone learns differently and use multiple techniques to explain with introductions in each chapter, definitions, pictures, scenarios, examples, followed by worksheets and quick summaries. Very helpful and never boring. I would definitely recommend!

Great Book

As a graduate student in clinical psychology, I greatly appreciated the lovely way Seth illustrated these concepts. It was an easy read that kept you engaged - a tricky combo to master. I would highly recommend it as a refresher book for early career clinicians who are using CBT and as a potential resource to recommend to clients.

Interesting

Now I give myself more permission to turn negative experiences in my life into a positive power that helps me grow and see the good in all that happens to me. Seriously. But you need to want to be positive. Life is hard and I can see how some of us may not want to get over a passive negative pessimistic state.

Great Book

Very understandable and I started treating myself right away after the first few chapters. It is an excellent layman treatise on the subject. Finally, I know what CBT is and I can use it on my patients and on myself.
