Summary

The bastard son of a nobleman, Finn Trewlove was a shameful secret raised by a stranger. As Finn came of age, he had secrets, too - the clandestine nights spent with an earl’s daughter. But her promise of forever ended in betrayal.

Driven by a past that haunts her, Lady Lavinia Kent seeks redemption in London’s underworld, engaged in a daring cause inspired by the young man to whom she gave her innocence and who then proved himself a scoundrel by abandoning her.

When their paths cross again, they can’t deny the yearning and desire that still burns. As they discover the truth behind the deceptions that tore them apart, Finn and Lavinia must fight to reclaim what they’ve lost, no matter how dangerous - because love is worth the risk....

The best so far

What a strong story, this book had everything you could ask for, love, betrayal, loyalty and most importantly a happy ending.
Well done to Kate Reading for her narration.

moving

I found this book very moving. It gives you a true insight into the victorian era and how children were dealt with. While the love story was beautiful I found it a little long winded before the excitement began. BUT it was worth waiting for as I was crying at the end (of joy) I won't give away the story line as it will spoil your enjoyment of it. As always Kate was superb. Thank you Lorraine for your brilliant imagination mixed with unknown history many of us will have had little knowledge. Two thing though. In England we wouldn't use quid as you have done, it is a slag word and would only be used in the appropriate sentance. Pounds in a normal conversation and the other would be the use of the word jelly not jam when talking about falling apart or weak at the knees. Example : My knees have gone to jelly. Off to the next in the series
