Stella Riley has done it again. I love all her writing, her heroes and heroines, familiar figures from earlier books who are part of the scene and, of course, her plots. I hope this is the first of a series; we need to know how Daniel, Benedict et all find love - and adventure. Perfect escapism, with Alex Wyndham on top form also. Just lovely.

I tried this on a whim and so glad I did. It's a mixture of a regency romance with detective work thrown in.

I liked that the good guys were virtuous and the baddy was a villain. Well structured story.

Strongly drawn characters

Alex Wyndham is a very good narrator, however the differentiation between the male voices could maybe be greater, so that it is easier to tell which character is speaking.
Stella Riley is able to tell an interesting story and the PTSD suffered by the main character was effectively portrayed. I’m looking forward to reading about the others in this close friendship group and getting glimpses of cross-over characters from her other series.
