Story
Overthinking isn't a personality trait. It's the sneakiest form of fear. It steals time, creativity, and goals. It's the most expensive, least productive thing companies invest in without even knowing it. And it's an epidemic. When New York Times best-selling author Jon Acuff changed his life by transforming his overthinking, he wondered if other people might benefit from what he discovered. He commissioned a research study to ask 10,000 people if they struggle with overthinking too, and 99.5 percent said, "Yes!"

Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

Hours of the guy banging on about religion, basically
- By Mr. Leigh Riley on 17-01-20
Summary
Getting rich is not just about luck; happiness is not just a trait we are born with. These aspirations may seem out of reach, but building wealth and being happy are skills we can learn.
So what are these skills, and how do we learn them? What are the principles that should guide our efforts? What does progress really look like?
Naval Ravikant is an entrepreneur, philosopher, and investor who has captivated the world with his principles for building wealth and creating long-term happiness. The Almanack of Naval Ravikant is a collection of Naval’s wisdom and experience from the last 10 years, shared as a curation of his most insightful interviews and poignant reflections. Inspiring quick read.
Naval might not be someone that the everyday person has come across. I randomly came across him from reading Tim Ferriss Tribe of Mentors. Navel interview had such a profound effect on me that I've got a phone reminder that goes off every wed telling me to reread his chapter.
Naval does not write this book. It's a collection of his thoughts, blogs, tweets and interview neatly repackaged as a guide to life covering wellbeing, wealth and happiness. Naval is known for championing being your authentic self, and the book explains the step he took to live a life that allows him to be precisely that.
It's full of insightful and inspiring quotable, as Eric has managed to create a book that covers each of the above themes individually, and it's written in a way where you can dip in and out, not needing to read it from cover to cover. It's a small book, I listened to the audible, which is just under five hours long.
For me, it's a great book to start your 2022 (or any time in life) if you’re looking for some inspiration.

Feel cheated- Available for free elsewhere
One of the very first things that you hear in this book is that it is available for free in kindle and audio format. Feel cheated that Audible charged me a credit to download. The book might be fine (I’ve not got that far into it yet) but I have to listen to it feeling like I’ve been conned, which is not a good start!

I've been following Naval for a few years now and every time I come across him, I get positively impressed with his wisdom and perspective. This book puts lots of his thoughts together. I found it an easy and interesting listen. What was lacking though was a clear structure of the book. Also narrator was mediocre.

Heard about him on a TikTok. It wasn’t just a brag list of accomplishments or a step by step guide to happiness. Very OK
Most of the topics covered were great and had good tips. Although did not appreciate the end on his view of religion, but to each their own. Was not much new to what I already know, however the delivery made you not even remember what was just talked about. So incredibly monotone and the narrator sounded bored as he spoke. Honestly wish I wouldn’t have purchased, better books like this elsewhere.
