Summary

Shane Miller Sleep Diary:

Went to bed at: Late.
How long it took to fall asleep: Forever. I have insomnia. Duh.
Number of caffeinated beverages you had consumed: Zero. Thanks for advising me to quit!

My stress level is off the charts.
I can’t sleep right on a normal day, and lately my days are filled with the best kind of chaos.
My ex-wife and husband number two are filming in Poland for three months, so I’m turning down movie parts to focus on the most important role of my life - impossibly charming and somewhat capable young single dad.

My son won’t stop asking questions.
My daughter won’t brush her teeth unless I sing her showtunes.
Our regular nanny quit.
The only person I could trust to hire as a temp nanny is my best friend’s sister.

If Mary Poppins and Bill Murray had a baby it would be Willa.
Fresh out of grad school and beautifully weird.
She hates my movies, and my kids adore her.
I couldn’t sleep last night because she wasn’t here.
Turns out I can’t sleep unless she’s in my house now.
Turns out she’s what’s been missing from my life all along.
If my friend had any idea what I want to do to his gorgeous troublemaker of a sister, he would smother me with a pillow.

The chances of us succeeding as a couple are about as good as that little indie movie that I made being a huge hit.
But it’s a chance I’m going to take.

A super fun rom com - I loved it

A sexy, best friend’s sister romance. Not only is Willa Todd the little sister of Shane Miller’s best friend, she is also now his temporary live in nanny. Nanny to his two adorable (yet extremely naughty) 5 year old twins. The kids love her, even the ex wife likes her, and Shane is besotted with her. After years of insomnia, Willa seems to be the answer to all his prayers. He can sleep, he can enjoy his children, his stress levels have gone right down, oh, and he can ogle her to his heart’s content. Willa is in her element, she’s finally within reach of her childhood crush, and things are starting to look up, her perfume business is taking off, she’s saving money and she’s loving life in LA. What an earth could go wrong? A great story that had me addicted from the first chapter. It didn’t hurt that Teddy Hamilton was narrating - I could listen to him read the daily news and get turned on, he’s got a voice of pure sex. Dirty and cheeky all at the same time. A full five stars from me.

Wonderful Story & Narration🎧 A Heartfelt Delight!

I love, love, loved this audiobook, it is a wonderful story, beautifully written and told! Kayley Loring is a gifted author, I enjoy her writing style, the storylines she created are original and interesting, they grabbed my attention right from the start and held it straight to the end. The characters are likable and easy to relate to. I adored the two leads, Shane Miller and Willa Todd, loved how Willa crushed on him when she was younger. Shane Miller an actor with a successful career is divorced with twin children, he had help fo a Nanny but she decided to quit. Shane is good friends with Willa’s brother, Nico, and it is he who recommends hiring Willa, she was a Nanny while training in France and she is looking for a temporary job while she starts up her own business. Willa was great with his kids, Lucky and Summer, she developed a good rapport with them and even got them to like her. I loved how everything plays out in this book, the alternating POV were great and the diary contributions are a brilliant additions. The story flows nicely and is beautifully plotted, there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, a bit of angst, some great humor, heartfelt and loving moments all leading to a great romance. I highly recommend this entertaining and enjoyable book!

Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright are awesome narrators and voice artist. They bring these characters to life, humanize them with their emotions, giving each their own voice and personality. I adored Teddy’s take on Shane and Mackenzie’s Willa, they also did a great job performing the voices of the secondary characters too, children included. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous and delightful listen🎧

SO GOOD! Fantastic book brought to life

Admittedly, I'm a fan of this author and I one-click her books because I feel like she usually has the perfect mix of humor and romance. And this book is my favorite to date. Well, it could be because I have boy/girl twins. Or that I'm neurotic, wacky and geeky and went to Cornell. Or it could be because I have insomnia. Or, it could be because I literally smiled for 95% of the book (the other 5% was enjoyable, but my zygomaticus major muscles got tired (yes, I looked that up because, me=geek).

Willa is a scent specialist who has been in love with Shane since she was 12 years old. Shane is an actor and Willa's brother's best friend. And he needs a nanny. She's between jobs. And she loves children (the twins, Summer and Lucky) so she becomes their live-in nanny. Now, how do they get to the point that they realize their love was meant to be? It was a fun and sweet road to their HEA and the twins, as well as Willa's brother, Nico, were fantastic supporting characters.

I first read the book and then I had the opportunity to listen to the narration through AudiobookObsessionReviewGroup. And this excellent book was elevated by the narrators. Teddy Hamilton is one of my favorite narrators and he played his role perfectly- funny, great pacing, emotional. Mackenzie Cartwright also was amazing, able to play multiple characters and really get the listener into the story. You know when you see these two together that the narration will be pretty much flawless.

Rom-Com Perfection!

Kayley Loring is quickly becoming one of my go-to rom-com authors. This might be my favorite to date!

Willa is awkward and nerdy and so freaking cute. I absolutely loved loved loved her character. The two together make for so many great laughable moments that will have you giggling and falling just a little more for them!

I enjoyed it

Sleeper is a romantic comedy that was a fun and engaging read and it held my interest from beginning to end. This single dad/ brother's best friend romance had charming and lovable characters, witty banter, laugh out loud moments and some steamy scenes. It was a lighthearted tale with little angst and a couple of cute adorable twins. I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to all lovers of romantic comedies.
I listened to the audiobook version of this novel which was narrated by McKenzie Cartwright and Teddy Hamilton. These are two of my favorite narrators that can do no wrong in my opinion. Their voices were perfectly suited to the characters. They had great pace and timing and their voice were clear and understandable. It was a pleasure listening to them narrate this novel.

Loved it!

Since I enjoyed reading the book (and gave it 5 out of 5 stars) it should be no surprise that I enjoyed listening to the audiobook as well. As with the other Kayley Loring audiobooks I listened to, narrators Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright did an awesome job. They really sound great together and they made Shane’s kids sound so cute! Their narration adds dimension to the story, making this romantic comedy even funnier and the chemistry between Willa and Shane seeem hotter. Sleeper was one of my favorite books that I read last year, and I won’t be surprised if it ends up one of my favorite audiobooks this year!

Sleeper is a contemporary romantic comedy written in dual first-person POV and narrated duet-style. It’s a low-angst standalone that ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.

I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Loved

This was the perfect book for me to listen to this week. This is my first time reading a book by Kayley Loring and it won’t be the last. Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright do a great job bringing the story to life. This book put me in a good mood while listening to it.

For as long as Willa can remember she has had a crush on Shane. Their first meeting was she was 12 and knew they were meant to be together. Now they are grown, and Shawn is a single dad and he needs help. He is an insomniac and his nanny left him to get married. His twins are so cute. Being their nanny is the perfect temporary job for her while she gets her performer business going.

This was such a fun listen. I highly recommend this book!

Best friends sister romance. Laughs, sleepless nights and Twins. this is a really nice, low angst romance. Perfume making nanny and more sleepless nights. Its Teddy Hamilton!! and Mackenzie Cartwright. As always the narration was spot on, I haven't heard a bad Teddy Hamilton narration yet... I really liked this story and it'll be one I go back to often. Worth the credit and your time to listen.... And the Twins, so cute!!!

Loads of humor and heart! 5+ stars!

Don't you just love it when you get to re-experience a story you love in a different format and it's even better the second time around? Kayley Loring was one of my favorite author discoveries from last year, and my introduction to her stories was through an audiobook, and I'm so happy that my second listen from her is just as good! I'd originally read Sleeper in December of 2019, and I quite adored it, so when the opportunity to listen to it came along, I jumped right on it. This audiobook is narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright, the same dynamic duo that narrated my first-ever Loring audio, Back for More, and these two were truly perfectly matched!

Sleeper is a falling-for-your-sibling's-best-friend slash single-parent romance with a Hollywood twist to it. Twenty-eight-year-old actor Shane Miller may have played a wizard when he was younger, but there's no magic potion out there that can help him get enough sleep and take care of his five-year-old twins, Summer and Lucky. His nanny went off to get married, and hiring one isn't all that simple, especially with his ex-wife demanding prior approval from her end. But then his best friend, Nico Todd, recommends his younger sister, twenty-four-year-old Willa, take the nanny position while she concocts original fragrances for her Etsy store. This is the perfect setup for everyone concerned. Now, if only Willa could stop herself from acting on her old teenage crush on her brother's best friend.

I may now be a wee bit addicted to Kayley Loring's audiobooks! Gah! It looks like I'm going to have to tap into my cache of Audible credits if this keeps up so I can get my greedy ears on her back list. Sleeper was an awesome audiobook to listen to, and Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright did justice to the wonderfully hilarious and scintillating story that this author penned. Shane and Willa were the sort of fictional romance couple that you simply can't resist falling in love with, and that love extends to the winsome twosome that was Summer and Lucky. Then there was Nico, Willa's older brother, and while I know his story is next, I can't help but get excited for the audiobook edition of that one as well. If you're looking for a rom-com with lots of heart and humor to it, especially with everything going on in the real world recently, find your perfect with Sleeper. This gets five-plus stars. 🖤

Loved this sexy single dad/forbidden rom-com!

I absolutely loved this sexy single dad/forbidden rom-com! Loring has fast become a favorite author, as I fall for her stories that are filled with humor, heart, and sizzling heat! This is about Shane, an actor and single dad who is in dire need of a nanny. He is so patient, and doting on his adorable twins who keep him busy and sleep deprived. His best friend's younger sister is back from France and looking for a job. Willa is a smart, quirky perfumer who has had a crush on Shane since she was young. She connects instantly with his twins, and jumps at the chance to be his temporary live-in nanny while she starts her own perfume line. She is able to help Shane with, not only his twins, but his insomnia as well, with her creative essential oil combinations. I laughed so hard at her inner musing, and how everything relates to smells. She is a wealth of crazy facts and she charmed me just as fast as she charmed Shane, his twins, and his ex. wife. Shane is so down to earth, adorable, caring and funny. He tries to fight his attraction to Willa, to be just friends, but he realizes he has also been intrigued by Willa since their first meet cute. I loved that this romance doesn't have alot of angst, but it does have just enough bedlam to make me completely satisfied. Mackenzie Cartwright and Teddy Hamilton were so perfectly cast to narrate this hilarious and heartwarming romance. They did a great job embodying these characters and setting the stage for all the fun, and passion to come. Both narrators have a wonderful range of voices and expressions that I love to get lost in and make this story pure pleasure!

Fantastic!💜

Great Storyline, not at all predictable at least for me, cause every time I thought one thing, something else happened. Perfect, it kept me engaged. Great chemistry between all the characters. Fun, sexy & romantic.

Honesty and control.

i love this book - present tense sinceI can't get over it just now.
The story was cute, the relationships were lovely to listen to and the twins were a whirlwind of trouble.

What I most appriciate about the characters was not their chemistry or their amazing sweet or hot moments. The book struck a cord when Shane talked to his best friend and was upfront, when Willa freaked out over being irresponsible and when both held back because there were other priorities. Also the ex wife not being a hysterical bitch a but a cool collected mom was a nice change.

I guess apart from a good story, adressing the cliche but rolling with it the best part was how the charactes didnt go crazy just to move the story along and the rambling and diary parts were cute cause you know Austin Powers quoted and 'Fuck Zac Efron!' combo bring out a special type of atmosphere.

Narrators! Great job. Selected this book because of Teddy and will stick to this tactic again.

Hot, funny, and oh so good.

I love this author so I had been patiently waiting on this one to hit Audible and it was even better than I was expecting. So funny and hot and sexy with a great story to back it all up.

Shane is famous and his bank account is full but he can't seem to manage his 5 year old twins on his own. When his best friend suggest his little sister help him out for a few weeks as his nanny Shane is all in. He had no idea having Willa around would not only relax him enough to be able to sleep but to also get his heart beating again.

Willa has had a crush on Shane for years or it started with the character he played as a teen and now her real life crush is right before her and single and hot and she is playing house with him or at least she is taking care of his children and living in his home. She has had feelings for this man for years but things are definitely different now, these are grown up real feelings instead of a teenage crush. But what about her career? Can she give it all up for this man?

Oh swoon, Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright. They are perfect as Shane and Willa. Their timing is spot on, their humor is right there and the sexy talk, whew, hot. Loved listening to these two tell this terrific story.

I loved this book and it is so worth the credit. I highly recommend it.
