Eddie: Cancel your dinky-little roomette on the train. I’m booking us two of the big bedroom suites. Birdie: I’ll cancel it after you’ve booked the other sleeper rooms. And reimburse you. Eddie: Don’t worry about it. Just cancel your tickets. I got this. Round trip. I’m on the Amtrak website right now. Birdie: You don’t have to leave NYC when I do! You’ll hardly be able to spend any time with your Instagram girlfriend who you've never met!

Story
There are bad ideas and there are good bad ideas. My former fiancé banging a nanny - that was a bad idea. A good girl having her first ever one-night stand with the hot former bad boy she just met after being dumped? Bad idea. When I find out that the nanny's ex-boyfriend is looking for revenge, I should run - far away. But I don’t...because rebounding with Vince is the most awesome bad idea ever. Do I want to help him get back at our exes in this way? Oh. Hell. Yes. I want him to get back at my ex hard. With wild abandon. All night long.

Story
When I was a kid, my dad was the gardener for the richest man in town. His daughter, Lily Barnes, told me she could never like a guy like me. Then she kissed me and told me it would never happen again. When it happened again, she told me she could never love me because she was going to leave this place, and I would never leave my dad. We were never quite friends, not exactly enemies, and we could never quite stop secretly kissing each other. She never said goodbye before running off to try to make it as an actress. That was her dream, and I wanted her to chase it.

Story
Dear Mr. Vega: I felt it necessary to follow up on today’s meeting, since we weren’t able to speak candidly in front of your son. I was shocked to discover that you are Ryder’s dad. I think it would be best if we just pretend that we met in person for the first time today. Your son is a very bright (flirtatious and talkative) student and since his education is a top priority for both of us, I hope I can count on you to respectfully refrain from grinning at me, using that sexy tone of voice, and undressing me with your annoyingly beautiful brown eyes....

Everyone on Main Street has been talking about Evan Hunter, the British movie star who’ll be filming on location in our small Pacific Northwest town for a couple of months, and all I have to say about that is: “Who?” When he shows up two weeks early to escape the London paparazzi after breaking up with some starlet, all I want to know is: “So?” When he walks into the gym that I manage for my dad and brothers, to start training for the action scenes in his movie, I’ll admit I do say to myself: “Hmmm...”

My stress level is off the charts. I can’t sleep right on a normal day, and lately my days are filled with the best kind of chaos. My ex-wife and husband number two are filming in Poland for three months, so I’m turning down movie parts to focus on the most important role of my life - impossibly charming and somewhat capable young single dad. Our regular nanny quit. The only person I could trust to hire as a temp nanny is my best friend’s sister. If Mary Poppins and Bill Murray had a baby it would be Willa.

Being a veteran quarterback means I’m a mentally alert, fine-tuned athletic machine who can make split-second decisions. It’s my job to anticipate what’s going to happen next. But I couldn’t have anticipated the death of our beloved team owner, or his estranged daughter, Hannah Strong, inheriting the Boston Tomcats. She’s stubborn, uptight, infuriating, and wrong about absolutely everything. I can’t stop arguing with her. Or thinking about her. And I don’t want to talk about how good she looks in a skirt. Or how good she’d look out of it. Really, I don’t.

Dear Fiona: I hope this letter finds you well - and by well, I mean significantly less infuriated than you were yesterday. How did I go from being insulted by Charlee Cox to hiring her to be my assistant? How is it that she’s chaos in color - making me crazy and my life better at the same time? I never thought I would be staring down at her bright blue eyes begging me to go along with the ridiculous scheme I suggested. Yes, I suggested it. Like the idiot I am, I thought hey, why not start an HR nightmare and have my assistant ask me to marry her? Confused? Don’t worry, so am I.

He's a billionaire heir. A grump supreme. Hater of people. Bigger hater of peopling with people. And my new fake boyfriend. "Emotionally unavailable" doesn’t even begin to describe Hayes Rutherford. He has more defenses than a nuclear missile silo. And he’s the ultimate catch of the century. At least, according to his bank statement. My job’s simple: Keep all interested ladies away from the walled-off heir, by pretending to be his one true love. But you know what they say about fake-dating a billionaire: It’s all fun and games, until the scandals start.

The first time I met Hudson Rothschild was at a wedding. I’d received an unexpected invitation to one of the swankiest venues in the city. Hudson was a groomsman and quite possibly the most gorgeous man I’d ever laid eyes on. He asked me to dance, and our chemistry was off the charts. I knew it wasn’t a good idea to get involved with him, considering the wedding I was at. But our connection was intense, and I was having a great time. Though the fun came to a screeching halt when Hudson figured out I wasn’t who I’d said I was.

Every man knows there are lines you don't cross. Like this one - don't bang your boss' little sister. Too bad I didn't know sexy, clever, irresistible London is related to the guy who signs my paychecks. Would have been helpful to have that intel before I took her out on that first date, before I kissed her on the beach, before I made plans to take her home that night.

Summary
What's the actual last thing you'd ever want your executive assistant to see you doing the morning after you had hot, drunk, angry sex with her in a terrible hotel room? Dancing around your terrible hotel room to "Come and Get Your Love" like Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy - naked? Yeah. Me too.
And yet, here we are.
This isn't even the most unprofessional thing that's happened between us in the past couple of weeks.
The first was when I agreed to let her have Christmas Day off, but only if she goes with me to three family gatherings as my fake girlfriend.
The second was when she caught me belting out a Christmas song on stage in the awful hotel bar.
The third was the hot, drunk, angry sex that followed, but I do not regret it.
And she hasn't even found out the real reason I need her by my side this holiday season.
I need to pull it together before I do the dumbest, most unprofessional thing of all - fall head over heels in love with the only assistant who's lasted more than a month at the job and claims to hate me and my moods more than she hates eggnog.
And I've seen how much she hates eggnog.
This audiobook is dual narration, with portions that are duet-style.

The only festive audiobook you NEED!
Another corker from the hilariously funny Kayley. I’m not normally into holiday books but I’d heard great things about this one and I was not disappointed. The narration by Connor and Mackenzie as always was stellar. They really know how to get the most out of a book. From side splitting laughter to get you in the heart feelings, this audiobook has it all. AND I am here for all the amazing accent work. Connor sings in Irish and Mackenzie’s voice for the Staten Island aunt is spot on.
This is a fake relationship, office romance with both of them catching secret feelings early. I will tell you literally nothing about the plot, because you just need to listen to this one.
This book is full of festive double entendres and I was here for every one of them.

A Very Bossy Christmas was everything I was expecting and more!
Declan a typical workaholic that likes to boss and be in control and his assistant Maddie Cooper is the only one who handle Declan. Maddie is a beautiful, strong and independent woman who gave as good as she received. The chemistry these two is electric and the banter hilarious!!
Having to keep his mother happy, he needs a fake relationship and so what’s the best thing to do? Yep that’s right! and so not to ruin their working relationship they decide to draw up a signed contract where they pretend to be in a relationship.
Theirs's obvious attraction between them and when that spark is lit things become extremely HOT!!! If you haven’t already read or listened to this hilariously hot holiday romance, trust me you don’t want to miss out on this fabulous book by Kayley Loring that brings together two different families an Irish-Italian with a Staten Island and just from knowing that family plays a part in this story it all ready sets the scene for a good feel story which is what Christmas is all about.

liked it a lot
I got my hopes up at first, as it seemed both narrators would do all their main character's dialogue. Unfortunately, it didn't last long. This is my only gripe with this audiobook. Connor has a simply divine voice but I'm not a fan of his version of the FMC's voice. Other than that, this is a steamy yet humorous book which I enjoyed immensely.

Romantic Comedy at its Best
Kayley Loring does it again. The humor and banter between the two main characters makes this book worth the listen all on it's own. Add in the story, side characters and sexy times and you have a five-star listen. I hope to get more books including stories for Declan's siblings.
I listened to the audo version of this book. Mackenzie Cartwright and Connor Crais were fantastic. Connor does an Irish access in part of the story and it is everything. Mackenzie is so great and I hope to continue to hear more from her.

5 stars are not enough for this book.
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending A Very Bossy Christmas to anyone who enjoys romantic comedies.
It's a refreshingly different twist on the fake relationship trope in that the big reveal isn't the fake relationship.
The male narrator Connor Crais' gruff sexy voice is perfect and really brings Declan to life.
The Female narrator, Mackenzie Cartwright, is brilliant as Maddie and she especially shines as Maddie's teenage niece Piper who is adorable.
Keep a look out for the punny chapter names!
I know this will be an audiobook I listen to over and over again at any time of the year.

WHAT A LITTLE GEM
Oh what a gem of a story this was.. a fun and cute office romance/fake girlfriend banter-filled love story. And the character connection, the easy flow of the story, the laughs, the sizzles, the charm, the amusing secondary characters and the tender sentiments were all perfectly brought to life by Mackenzie and Connor (Connor you did swoon-worthy accents). Kayley, thank you, you’ve written a very entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable fun and flirty story that warmed my heart. WORTH A CREDIT? Yes absolutely worth it.

Excellent Holiday Romance!
A Very Bossy Christmas is a very funny, office, fake relationship romance!
I loved Declan and Maddie! Their chemistry was on point and their banter was so fun to read. The two of them (and their families) had me laughing and I didn't want this book to end. Declan was so gruff but melted perfectly for Maddie and when his Irish came out *swoon*! Maddie is a spit fire of an assistant and I love that she keeps him on his toes. Excellent holiday romance that I recommend everyone read (or listen to - I did and the narrators were superb)!

I don't think I can put into words how much I love Kayley Loring's books. They are simply lovely and make me feel as though I'm wrapped in a warm blanket. Her writing naturally flows, is sharp and witty and just makes me feel happy. Ms Loring also knows how to write a hero. Each one is just perfect without being perfect, if that makes sense. Declan is no exception and might actually be my favourite of all her leading men. His dirty mouth, dirty thoughts and big beautiful heart just filled me with joy with every word. Her leading ladies are brilliant too, complimenting the male character yet taking as much of the limelight themselves. Mel has become my girl crush - strong, feisty and not afraid to go for what she wants, with a little persuasion from the fabulous Piper. A Very Bossy Christmas is another to add to my 'oh this is my favourite Kayley Loring book' list because I don't think she's written anything I haven't loved that I've so far read. There's no major angst, no mind blowing cliff hangers or any gimmicks, Ms Loring just relies on her talent to drag you into her world and make you smile.

Thankfully my poor sleeping hubby wasn't disturbed because I cleverly kept turning my giggles into gentle (pretend) coughs. This book had me rolling from time to time, saying, "Awwww," other times and wondering why these two were so stupid, stuck and stubborn other times. Mind you, as a romance author myself, I realize you can't just write a book with no struggles, misunderstandings, an unrequited element at least somewhat and stuff that just plain makes you mad. It's an authors job! Kaylee is a master nature these things! Plus, her humor makes my eyes leak! Who doesnt need a good laugh?
I get frustrated by reviews that get angry about the narrator(s), and not the content of the book. Authors don't always get to pick and choose their narrators, so this isn't a fair judgment. I wish there was a clearer way to rate the book separately. I also get up in arms when folks say the book was boring, too fast or too slow. People, please remember that sometimes we need to understand how these two folks could fall in love in such a short period of time, which csn seem too slow for people with ahort attention spans or are just lookkng for nonstop sex. Sometimes an author is trying to incorporate some logic into the fantasy. Sometimes a slowish burn like this one is freaking worth it because on the flip side, the description of the love scenes are SO REWARDING and well written, it makes up for all our angst. This one did it for me. Whew. These Half Irish/Half Italian boys in this family are Swoony! I'm definitely lookong forward to listening again and in reading the next in the series!

Renewed my love for romance novels
This book has me interested right from the start. Conner Crais’ has a voice sexy and smooth. Mackenzie Cartwright is fantastic and hope the pair does more together. There were a few parts I turned the volume down for if I was near anyone with tender ears, but there wasn’t any part of this audio book that didn’t make me want to hear more. This was also my first Kayley Loring book. I just finished the 2nd Brodie Brother’s book and doubling back for the first one. Kayley is fast becoming my favorite author.

Heartwarming and hilarious holiday love story
Again, Kayley Loring did it again! This story again was narrated to perfection by Connor Crais and the amazing Mackenzie Cartwright. My favorite part is how they were feeling after that hearty Christmas meal at Declan’s family when they were back at the hotel. This story had me laughing, smiling and wishing all the wonderful things to happen to this couple and it did…beautiful HEA :)
