Summary
Bearded, bad-boy barber Knox prefers to live his life the way he takes his coffee: Alone. Unless you count his basset hound, Waylon.
Knox doesn’t tolerate drama, even when it comes in the form of a stranded, runaway bride.
Naomi wasn’t just running away from her wedding. She was riding to the rescue of her estranged twin, to Knockemout, Virginia, a rough-around-the-edges town where disputes are settled the old-fashioned way....With fists and beer. Usually in that order.
Too bad for Naomi, her evil twin hasn’t changed at all. After helping herself to Naomi’s car and cash, Tina leaves her with something unexpected. The niece Naomi didn’t know she had. Now, she’s stuck in town with no car, no job, no plan, and no home - with an 11-year-old going on 30 to take care of.
There’s a reason Knox doesn’t do complications, or high-maintenance women, especially not the romantic ones. But, since Naomi’s life imploded right in front of him, the least he can do is help her out of her jam. And just as soon as she stops getting into new trouble, he can leave her alone, and get back to his peaceful, solitary life.
At least, that’s the plan, until the trouble turns to real danger.

Everything!
After finishing this book there’s only two ways forward:
1. I re-read it over and over again
2. I need to find and live in a world where Knox Morgan exists

Disappointed
It was an easy story to follow and listen too, but honestly very predictable. The characters who are in their 40's acted and talked like 20 year olds. some moments were far fetched. if not for the gripping narration I would have stopped.

Overly long and clichéd
The immature characters, predictable plot which heavily relies on trobes and a struggle to finish. at least two subplots too many

A Complete Story!
We all do it, but I don't know why it took me sooooo long to listen/read this book.
If I am honest,.... the title didn't grab me, also I am not sure that the synopsis is all that enticing/intriguing either. However I bought the book but kept putting off reading/listening to it. In the end (I must confess) that it being #2 in the top 100 books of 2022, finally got me to give it a go, and man, I was not disappointed! I LOVED IT!
No spoilers here, but if you love a good book with a good, intriguing storyline and 2 good main characters and a wonderful supporting cast including dogs,.... do yourself a favour and get stuck in!
The Narrators also brought something to the table and are more than worthy of a mention.

Great book
Wow. This book was so much more than I possibly could imagine. It broke my heart at times and also made me laugh. The characters were fabulous and entertaining. It had drama, suspense and love throughout and also lots of humour. Fabulous narration too

Friggin loved this
This was my first Lucy Score book and it definitely wasn’t my last! I friggin loved it.
So much so I needed the audio and what a fabulous job the narrators did of it, I loved it so much more the second time, I could never get bored of this story.
Lucy reeled me in from the start and kept me captivated throughout.
I loved the dynamic between Naomi and Knox from their very first meeting it was fireworks.
We had some fiery scenes both of the romantic and verbal, with so many moments to make me titter, throw in some deep and meaningful and a dash of drama and boom! What more do you want?
There are some amazing characters in Knockemout and I want so many more to have their books.
I need Lucian and Sloane’s story……like now! With Nash getting his too and even hoping we get something for Stef 😏

Best book ever
This is the best book I’ve ever read! And I’ve read hundreds of books! I’m absolutely in love with every single writer word in this book! The characters the plot the ending! A book has never made me feel more than this book , Lucy did a great job with this! I’m listening to her brand new book right now and hope it’s just as good
