concise, direct advice

I was pleasantly surprised to find that this book provided not only practical advice but also reasonable steps to carrying out methods to achieve building self-confidence. I have been into self growth for a while. This book was a great refresher of everything I've learned about self growth in a very well organized manner. I'm so thankful to have this book.

It is our duty is to build self confidence and make a difference in this world for if we sit
life out, what use are we for God? As a Christian, I have faith in my abilities because they are
God-given. Do you have faith in your abilities? If not, I would advise you to set a course to
become someone worthy of both self respect and a person of action.

A very good guide to yourself

It is particularly good for those who grew up in a less that encouraging home and suffer from self confidence and acting out behaviors because of that. It requires "doing" so for those really committed to doing the work, it's a great workbook and much cheaper than professional help, but also a great tool if you are a therapist and want to support your client through the each challenge. The trick is convincing yourself that you can do something - with the right help, support, preparedness and knowledge.

Worth the investment!

As a human being I found it really helpful for my own journey in exploring what is important to me and prioritizing the important things in life. I would recommend this book as a professional and personally. Very useful tool in dealing with helping clients understanding how their self-esteem is impacting their lives as well as where it might stem from. Gives very practical and simple advice and tasks to help clients have the tools to improve how they feel about themselves. Overall, I would highly recommend it to everyone.

Changed my view of myself completely.

Great for helping understand self esteem issues. It really helps you see that your negative thoughts are common and can cause you a lot of discomfort. So far it has help my self view and changed my perspective about my space and they way I have not only been interacting with it but how my deeper thoughts have been keeping me in a loop, so to speak. It really has helped my self-esteem and why some days it is higher than others, which has always been unclear for me. I really enjoy this book so far and would recommend it to others.

Kill negative thoughts.

You have to learn to be aware of your self-talk, the thoughts you have about yourself and what you’re doing. I would imagine that a negative thought was a bug, and I would vigilantly be on the lookout for these bugs. When I caught one, I would stomp on it (mentally of course) and squash it. Kill it dead. Then replace it with a positive one. (“Common, I can do this! Only one mile left!”) And this book will help you all the way. I am a much improved person after listening to this audio book.

confident comes w/ the knowledge

Can you stand up for what you believe in and actually debate the facts? Most people try
to fake it and fall flat on their face. You’ve seen that person, the one who thinks they know
everything but gets cut down when trying to prove it. Being confident comes with the knowledge

Shift to an equality mentality.

People with low self-confidence see others as better or more deserving than themselves. Instead of carrying this perception, see yourself as being equal to everyone. They are no better or more deserving than you. Make a mental shift to an equality mentality and you will automatically see an improvement in your self-confidence. The book is filled with relate table examples and practical exercises that anyone can implement. Improving Your Self-Esteem

Some people may not be accomplishing their goals because of a lack of self esteem. Even for those that feel they are self confident, this is a great resource yo determine areas that could be improved. The authors' tone is loaded with insight, compassion, and empathy. Would enthusiastically recommend this extremely helpful and user friendly audio book to other therapists and to patients for use on their own or with a therapist.
