A former FBI hostage negotiator offers a new, field-tested approach to negotiating - effective in any situation.

After a stint policing the rough streets of Kansas City, Missouri, Chris Voss joined the FBI, where his career as a kidnapping negotiator brought him face-to-face with bank robbers, gang leaders and terrorists. This book is well balanced between theory and practice and comes from a brilliant mind in negotiation. The very simple techniques are actually quite awkward to employ but have outcomes that are surprisingly good. The Ackerman technique I loved and try to employ in my business with results that are bearing more fruit the more I practice. The tone and pace makes this book bliss to listen to even for the 7th time and counting

I found this ebook eye opening, significantly increasing my willingness to actually get into the ever frightening confrontational negotiating game. The narrator's voice is so mellow that I found myself listening hours on end, actually being disappointed to have gone through it so quickly! I find Voss a fascinating character and would be delighted to meet him in real life, this guy has a lot to teach, life changing teachings. Definitely recommending this useful text if you are willing to gain more control of your own life through the art of negotiation, because life is a continuously ongoing negotiation; the sooner you start acknowledging it, the sooner you'l make the right steps to get better at it.
Enjoy!

There aren't that many books on audible that I have enjoyed as much as I have this one and not just that but also found useful. The example stories bring the points home, the reader is excellent and really plays the part and uses the voice just thr way the book says, the techniques mentioned are easy to understand and remember. I only wish I had read this earlier, would have been interesting to see if i would have paid a different price for my house and car. Better late than never i suppose, I now find myself actively listening in and picking up queues and even trying the many techniques. Really enjoyed the listen which I will be sharing with others no doubt.

Man, wish I had read this earlier

Honestly, it is hard to find a book that offers so many practical tips and examples. I was getting tired of books just giving general mindset advice and hyping it up to be the best thing ever, but here you really find exact tips on how to behave and win negotiations. Also a very good listen due to interesting real life stories.
Go get it.

A masterclass of practical tips with great stories

There's absolutely nothing I didn't like about this book!
Well informed, well structured, easy to follow and understand.
The reader has a clear voice, very good diction and the intonation is faultless. He holds your attention like he's reading a thriller!
I will definitely not only listen to other of Chris Voss's books, but now I'll get the printed copy of this one as well

Superb!
