Publisher's Summary

Spend the next 40 years in prison or break her lease early? Normally she'd be able to say that this one was a no-brainer, but things have definitely changed since she was forced to move in across the hall from Danny Bradford. She wanted to get through one day, just one day without Danny Bradford doing something to test the limits to her control, but with that damn smile of his and his habit of leaving her contemplating manslaughter, she didn't see that happening anytime soon.

He loved his family, but some days...it was too much, but that was okay, because his small neighbor living across the hallway provided him with endless hours of entertainment. Not on purpose of course, but did it really matter as long she made him smile?

    Story
"Love, Love, Love the Bradford Men"

This is one of my favorite series. The Bradford men crack me up. I love Mathewson's writing style and pace of the stories. I can't imagine anyone except Fran Jules performing these stories. Fran Jules ROCKS the Bradford Family.

The family trait of the Bradford's, including uncles and cousins is their ravenous appetites and love of food. Their antics against each other cause them to be banned from restaurants, food delivery services and of course all-you-can-eat buffets.

They tend to fall in love with women who are the opposite of what they envision to be their perfect wife. They also tend to bicker with and aggravate these women. I love how the Bradford men will take a statement or argument with their girlfriend/neighbor and turn it around to benefit them.

There's also a lot of sex. The Bradford men are extremely persistent in getting their way in the bed.

I go to these books after listening to an emotional draining story or dark suspense thriller or if I'm in a book rut. These stories also take on real life issues like being overweight, being a foster child, various medical issues but everything always works out with a HEA.

These books are well worth the credit or dollars.

"Good addition to the series :)"

    3-3.5 stars

This was an enjoyable addition to the series. I liked Jodi and Danny and thought their story was good but it did seem a bit disjointed at times and a bit OTT at other times, so while I liked it, I didn't rate it as high as others in the series.

Jodi is a librarian who is only a librarian because she lost (in some unexplained way) the job she used to have at a museum. It was explained in a rather piecemeal fashion (as the story went) but basically, Jodi was involved with a guy that treated her like crap and apparently also worked at the museum. He dumped her right before they were supposed to get married and she found out that he stole credit for something at work (which ended her working there I guess?), cleaned out her bank accounts, and left her with $15K in credit card debt. Jodi has a father she loves and who could help her out of her situation but she doesn't contact him through most of the story.

Danny is an ex-Marine who left the service after getting injured in the line of duty. Hs back was damaged and there were a lot of fears he'd be handicapped so even though he's alright now, his family tends to go overboard with the coddling and fussing...which drives poor Danny nuts. Danny entered the Marines against his father's wishes and it caused a rift that is still there between them.

Jodi lives in an apartment building owned by Trevor (the hero from book #2) and this apartment building just happens to be filled with Bradford cousins. Jodi has a problem with Danny, who lives right across the hall from her. At some point, Danny decided that he liked Jodi when she's all pissed off so he made it his mission to piss her off, regularly. Jodi begs Trevor to let her out of the lease but he declines, giving her a discount on the rent if she'll stay. Because Jodi is flat broke trying to pay off the massive bills her Ex left her with, she reluctantly agrees. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), Jodi ends up involved in an incident involving some toxic food substance in the trash because of Danny's family. Jodi gets some on her and has a reaction so Danny helps her through the night. This ends up being a bit of hell for Danny because on any kind of drugs, Jodi behaves drunk and hyper and it takes all of his strength and wits to keep her out of trouble.

That night makes Danny realize that he likes Jodi and he decides to woo her. This is something a Bradford doesn't usually do but Danny is determined that Jodi deserves it (especially after hearing about her Ex) and so he makes a "Game Plan" on how he's going to make her fall for him and marry him. At first, Jodi refuses him because she's not convinced that he actually wants her. Danny convinces her and gets her to date him but they decide to take it "slow" and slow it is. jodi does get introduced to his family and gets invited to a family vacation to Florida with them. This moves things with her and Danny along but there are things they hadn't gotten around to discussing with each other (about their pasts) and things kind of explode on the trip. Personal issues come into play as well as more of the Bradford "incidents" where something happens at a buffet that ends in people crying but we never get any details... The ending of this story was a bit deeper than other books in the series but that's what really saved this story for me. It showed what love and good family can bring, ending the story nicely with a HEA for Danny and Jodi.

This was an enjoyable story. I liked Jodi and thought she was a good heroine. She had some faults but not too many and none that were overly annoying. And the way she reacted to any kind of drugs was hilarious, LOL. Danny was a very good hero once he got over the "I want to piss off Jodi" phase. As I noted previously, I felt that there were parts of the story that seemed a bit disjointed or confusing at times...they didn't usually last long but it was still kind of jarring when it happened. Overall though, I enjoyed the story and will be continuing with the series. :)

"Should have stayed with the game plan"

I was ready to really like this book but by the middle, ugh. Seriously, how many allergies can this woman have? It felt like she was drugged for 50% of the book. It's not all bad. Although the brothers antics are completely immature, if you take it as bizarre family practices you can see the humor in it. This would have made a much better novella.

I love this series ! It has so much humor and really let's you get to know the characters.
Each book brings in others from past books but it can stand on its own .The characters just
Pop off the page and makes you feel like you are part of this crazy family.
I can relate to Jody when she goes to the all you can eat restaurants.I have a brother - law that was kicked out of an all you can eat restaurant because he ate too much!
