I Thought This Was Excellent

Zig, I was well impressed with this audio book.

I'm just getting into sales myself and I found this audio book invaluable. No waffle... he just tells you how to overcome objections. My only issue was that it took a while to get used to his accent and the audio quality could have been better. Apart from that blip - as I listened it suddenly became obvious that he knows what he's talking about and it's all based on his successes and failures. This guy is real... I've already taken action on some of his teachings and they really work.

If you're getting into sales - this is absolutely the first book you should read.

Priceless

This is a great audio book. Hugely funny and informative too. Zig has the most amazing accent, which takes some getting used to. He obviously knows what he is talking about though and identifies a lot of things I've encountered in my limited sales experience. He talks from his experience in the field, both as a sales man and as someone who has been sold to - usually by his wife. Recommended listening. If you want to know more about the fine art of selling you will definitely learn something.

No audiobook, just a collection of speeches

Would you try another book written by Zig Ziglar or narrated by Zig Ziglar?

I would definitely not get a book narrated by Zig Ziglar as his accent is really annoying. I would consider getting an unabridged version of one of his other books however, providing it's done by a professional narrator

Would you recommend Zig Ziglar's Secrets of Closing the Sale to your friends? Why or why not?

I don't have an a opinion as this 'audiobook' is not an abridged version of the book. It's just a collection of excerpts from speeches

Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Zig Ziglar?

Anyone but Zig Ziglar. His accent and intonation of speech is really annoying. The only people who could follow him, are probably people from his hometown

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Anger. Zig Ziglar has left a legacy, and there's all these people trying to make money of his legacy (Audible included). Don't try to sell me an abridged version of an audiobook, when what you really are trying to do is cut-paste an old speech of his and trying to sell it to me as an original piece of work.

Audible should clearly indicate when they are selling us live recordings. This is the third time I have fallen for an abridged version of a book only to realize it's a crappy quality live recording

good, but boring

The content of the audio was very informative and will help all sales people, but the tone of Zig Ziglar's voice can send you to sleep. Some very good tips on how to close a sale.

classic Zig

This is a classic Zig: the Texas "twang"; the wealth of stories; the glib cleches. Outstanding motivational content; very positive and inspirational. If you like self-dev and inspirational books, you'll love this one.

Classic Ziglar

Would you consider the audio edition of Zig Ziglar's Secrets of Closing the Sale to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version, but I loved hearing Zig himself. This audio version isn't Zig narrating, but rather audio of him "giving" his presentations. It is accompanied by a narrator who introduces and summarizes each segment.

This "book" is a wonderful compilation of how to close the sale, given in excellent Zig fashion with anecdotes, illustrations and examples throughout. Great listen!

A "Must Have"

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Every aspect of this audiobook is relevant and impactful if you are in professional selling. Ziglar uses real life scenarios with each closing technique and I could identify with each example. Outstanding!

What did you like best about this story?

There was never a dull moment while listening to Ziglar. He delivers the entire book with enthusiasm!

eh

i've heard a lot of good things about zig but in the end, it was just too much hype and not enough performance. the strategies are very easy to see through which would annoy the prospect (i've tried them)

Maybe for a car dealer

I really wanted to like Zig Zigler. I have heard so much praise about his tapes and seminars. I found his stories amusing but lacking in substance. His tactics are loud, obnoxious, and overbearing. If someone tried to sell to me with these tactics I would take my money and run the other way.

This book may apply more for someone in a direct sales environment, car sales, vacume cleaner sales, timeshares. But I sell embroidery, this won't work for me at all.

A must for the sales professional


During the recession between 2008 & 2010 I struggled like many sales professionals. A good friend who believed in me more than myself handed me this audiobook, on CD at the time. What Mr. Ziglar reminded me of then is still with me today.

I am a sales professional. This audio book helped highlight the wonderful skill set I had not realized I was using all along. It gave me the confidence and structure to resurrect my career.

Fast forward to 2017 & I am a Director of Sales at an industry leader in enterprise software. These wonderful lessons from Mr. Ziglar are inculcated in the lessons I teach to the 30+ young sales professionals I work with.

Thank you Mr. Ziglar for your many wonderful lessons and more important reminders about the importance of this profession.
