Story
After a five-year research project, Jim Collins concludes that good to great can and does happen. In this audiobook, he uncovers the underlying variables that enable any type of organisation to make the leap from good to great while other organisations remain only good. Rigorously supported by evidence, his findings are surprising - at times even shocking - to the modern mind. Good to Great achieves a rare distinction: a management book full of vital ideas that reads as well as a fast-paced novel.

Story
A business parable about how to create a start-up that won't trap you when you want to sell it. According to John Warrillow, the number one mistake entrepreneurs make is to build a business that relies too heavily on them. Thus, when the time comes to sell, buyers aren't confident that the company-even if it's profitable-can stand on its own. To illustrate this, Warrillow introduces us to a fictional small business owner named Alex who is struggling to sell his advertising agency.

Story
Spread through the public in the form of popular stories, ideas can go viral and move markets - whether it's the belief that tech stocks can only go up or that housing prices never fall. Whether true or false, stories like these - transmitted by word of mouth, by the news media, and increasingly by social media - drive the economy by driving our decisions about how and where to invest, how much to spend and save, and more. But despite the obvious importance of such stories, most economists have paid little attention to them. Narrative Economics sets out to change that.

This book does exactly what is says on the tin !!!! (Very well read)
- By Mr. Stephen S. Alderman on 01-04-21
Summary
In this perennial best seller, embraced by organizations and industries worldwide, globally preeminent management thinkers W. Chan Kim and Renee Mauborgne challenge everything you thought you knew about the requirements for strategic success. Recognized as one of the most iconic and impactful strategy books ever written, Blue Ocean Strategy, now updated with fresh content from the authors, argues that cutthroat competition results in nothing but a bloody red ocean of rivals fighting over a shrinking profit pool. Based on a study of 150 strategic moves (spanning more than 100 years across 30 industries), the authors argue that lasting success comes not from battling competitors but from creating "blue oceans" - untapped new market spaces ripe for growth.
Blue Ocean Strategy presents a systematic approach to making the competition irrelevant and outlines principles and tools any organization can use to create and capture their own blue oceans. This expanded edition includes: a new preface by the authors: "Help! My Ocean Is Turning Red"; updates on all cases and examples in the book; and two new chapters and an expanded third one - "Alignment, Renewal, and Red Ocean Traps" - that address some of the most pressing questions listeners and readers have asked over the years.

Boring repetitive stories about other companies
All this audiobook seems to be is examples of other companies that have apparently “adopted a blue ocean strategy” when they were established and have been operating before this book came into existence.
Every single chapter is at least 80% details of what other companies have done. The authors have just found companies that fit their theories, and in this day and age the book comes across as dated.

an excellent book with counterintuitive insights
I really love this book because it turned my assumptions on their head regarding many of the conventional wisdoms in marketing for most companies.
it's ironic that most industry experts even in Fortune 500 would probably be against most of the strategies discussed in this book.
that said it just goes to show that there is a great deal of dogma out there and that if something is contradictory or seemingly contradicted yet probably just means we don't have the understanding we think we do about such things.

Profound insights for any business environment
When I was studying for my master degree, I had a strategy related course where the professor there recommended this book while stating that it has profound insights and examples related to any given business with outstanding frameworks for success. That was a decade ago, and I only now had the time to read it, and boy, my strategy professor was absolutely right! I recommend this books to anyone that wants to broaden their understanding in how things should be done properly in any business environment.
