Camerons Painted Picture

I attended MIT Birthing Of Giants 2006 - 08 where Cameron was lecturing on many things including the Painted Picture, now Vivid Vision. On our final year, a dozen of us , all CEOs hired a house by the shore near Martha's Vineyard to complete our Painted Picture before going back to the bedlam of our businesses. This transformed many people's lives. Create your Vivid Vision in a beautiful place with amazing people and magic will happen. Brian Keegan

Excellent book on creating and establishing your visions

This was an excellent and precise book on creating visions for your company and your personal life.

I had the pleasure of hosting Cameron on my show Ben’s business podcast and really appreciate Cameron’s skills and understanding on how to set goals with practical steps that make them more measurable and achievable.

Great tool for growing your company

I Loved this book that explains why you should dream Big and create an inspiring vision for your company which will be a tool you can share with your partner, employees, investors etc. They will be excited and get an understanding and be part of what you want to build three years down the line. It is really well written and full of examples on why it is important but also how you go about creating your Vivid Vision document. Using this book, I created my own Vivid Vision and I must admit I copied some of the inspirational sentences from examples in this book. I also got some help to give it that finishing touch. I am really proud of mine and because of my Vivid Vision document, I have now enrolled two senior advisors to join my team as they got excited by reading it. They did not ask for a business plan, the Vivid Vision was what inspired them.

This book is shallow

I was quite excited by the title but very disappointed with the book. The concepts are rather thin and don't express creating a deeper Vision than most. books on this topic. His example of good Vision are simply unsubstantiated wish lists of a perfect company. I found no depth to this book and no strong ideas to take away. Added to that there is significant Grandstanding and bragging by the author which I found nauseating. Another mention of his condo in Whistler...... Many better books on this topic.

Should have been an hour

How many ways can you say the same thing? Find out in this book.
To me it felt like each chapter was similar to the previous one, it keeps going over the same point.
This could have been done in under half the time and still been as effective, because the principle of the vision is good and makes sense.

Bullishness & tons of bs

Book Summary
Write a vivid vision and evangelise
I am so good blablabla
I am so perfect blablabla
Just look how great the companies I run.
We do so f**ckin well.

zero learning points
zero setback experiences
no models or supporting research

Very very poor on content. Read Dilbert comic strips or any Scot Adams book and you are better off by far. If you want something more sober read John Deorr 's , Measure What Matters.

Total waste of time and money.
