Loved this so much! A bit confusing at first as the audio didn't make any distinction when changing POVs so might have been better to read it physically but I loved the characters and storyline and once I got to know the characters the changing POV was fine on audio! The magic is super intriguing! LOVE that she's a baker not a fighter! Can't wait for the next book!! So excited it will be released on audible next month!!

It took me a few of chapters to figure out the story style in terms of how the POVs were written and how the characters were presented but as soon as that was locked in so was I! It was such an excellent way to present as story as a literal journey and I was invested every step of the way. Narrator also completely excellent, potentially one of my favourites to listen to so far! And I have listened to many. Loved it!

My first Viking romantasy did not disappoint

This book is fabulous. With too many fantasy romance novels out there at the minute - most just carbon-copies of each other - it’s hard to find something original and well-written. The world-building in this is excellent, and the female main character is strong and well-rounded. The characters are morally grey and believable. The plots twists were great. I was so invested in the story! Narration was also excellent - Islay is great. Best fantasy audiobook I have listened to in a while. Looking forward to listening to the next instalment.
