About this listen

Every harvest moon, the Witch Collector rides into our valley and leads one of us to the home of the immortal Frost King, to remain forever.

Today is that day—Collecting Day.

But he will not come for me. I, Raina Bloodgood, have lived in this village for twenty-four years, and for all that time he has passed me by.

His mistake.

Raina Bloodgood has one desire: kill the Frost King and the Witch Collector who stole her sister. On Collecting Day, she means to exact murderous revenge, but a more sinister threat sets fire to her world. Rising from the ashes is the Collector, Alexus Thibault, the man she vowed to slay and the only person who can help save her sister.

Thrust into an age-old story of ice, fire, and ancient gods, Raina must abandon vengeance and aid the Witch Collector or let their empire—and her sister—fall into enemy hands. But the lines between good and evil blur, and Raina has more to lose than she imagined. What is she to do when the Witch Collector is no longer the villain who stole her sister, but the hero who's stealing her heart?

I loved this I loved the heroine great world building lots of action, magic it was surprisingly captivating. the only character I thought was a bit of a dumbo was the actual frost king he just kept throwing himself to where ever the "badie" wanted to take him instead of fighting he would always goad the bad guy then just when you think he could be saved here if he shut up along he goes and offers himself up🤦🏻‍♀️ the heroine held onto him at one point and off he goes letting go. He did my head in a bit lol. But apart from that this was a brilliant listen highly recommend if you love fantasy adventure romance

you know this was another surprise

The narrators are wonderful and really capture the adventure. While this book gets straight into the action, it took a little while for me to get into it. I can definitely say I’ll be listening to the next book in the story.

A worthwhile listen

this was a really easy book to listen to, but unfortunately just didn't excite me. there was plot, and romance, but the "enemies to lovers" flipped so quickly and early on it didn't leave any tension or real slow burn or yearning. there is enough plot and story for you to listen to, but it didn't pull me in enough to rush to book 2. I may pick up book 2 at some point, but I have others I'll read first. Narrators were ok, however the female narrator seemed to give the males the same voice pretty much, which didn't matter until towards the end when there on the page together, but then I had to concentrate more on who was saying what.

3.5 stars for me. easy listen, ok story, didn't excited me

Great chemistry, great worldbuilding. Imaginative story. Loved the narration too. Definitely worth listening, even if you have read a lot of fantasy. It’s different enough. Love the concept of the threads and weaving.

Loved it
