Everyone on Main Street has been talking about Evan Hunter, the British movie star who’ll be filming on location in our small Pacific Northwest town for a couple of months, and all I have to say about that is: “Who?” When he shows up two weeks early to escape the London paparazzi after breaking up with some starlet, all I want to know is: “So?” When he walks into the gym that I manage for my dad and brothers, to start training for the action scenes in his movie, I’ll admit I do say to myself: “Hmmm...”

Being a veteran quarterback means I’m a mentally alert, fine-tuned athletic machine who can make split-second decisions. It’s my job to anticipate what’s going to happen next. But I couldn’t have anticipated the death of our beloved team owner, or his estranged daughter, Hannah Strong, inheriting the Boston Tomcats. She’s stubborn, uptight, infuriating, and wrong about absolutely everything. I can’t stop arguing with her. Or thinking about her. And I don’t want to talk about how good she looks in a skirt. Or how good she’d look out of it. Really, I don’t.

Story
When I was a kid, my dad was the gardener for the richest man in town. His daughter, Lily Barnes, told me she could never like a guy like me. Then she kissed me and told me it would never happen again. When it happened again, she told me she could never love me because she was going to leave this place, and I would never leave my dad. We were never quite friends, not exactly enemies, and we could never quite stop secretly kissing each other. She never said goodbye before running off to try to make it as an actress. That was her dream, and I wanted her to chase it.

I knocked up my best friend's sister. Let's start with how she decided to inform me and Pacey the news...together. Imagine that nightmare. I was going into what I thought was a hockey marketing meeting, and then bam! I'm going to be a dad and my best friend/teammate is attempting to imprint my face with his fist. Threats were tossed around, friendships were revoked, and then I was marched up to her apartment, suitcases in hand, and forced to live with her so I could take care of her every need. Now I'm finding it harder and harder not to fall for my best friend's little sister.

My stress level is off the charts. I can’t sleep right on a normal day, and lately my days are filled with the best kind of chaos. My ex-wife and husband number two are filming in Poland for three months, so I’m turning down movie parts to focus on the most important role of my life - impossibly charming and somewhat capable young single dad. Our regular nanny quit. The only person I could trust to hire as a temp nanny is my best friend’s sister. If Mary Poppins and Bill Murray had a baby it would be Willa.

Dear Mr. Vega: I felt it necessary to follow up on today’s meeting, since we weren’t able to speak candidly in front of your son. I was shocked to discover that you are Ryder’s dad. I think it would be best if we just pretend that we met in person for the first time today. Your son is a very bright (flirtatious and talkative) student and since his education is a top priority for both of us, I hope I can count on you to respectfully refrain from grinning at me, using that sexy tone of voice, and undressing me with your annoyingly beautiful brown eyes....

He's cold, hard, and undeniably arrogant. That's how Andrew Blake's best friends describe him. Bad luck for me that I'm his new assistant. Nothing I do is good enough. I'm beginning to wonder if there's a heart in that tall, hard, gorgeous body of his. After work, I'm complaining about him to my new best friend - the bartender at the pub, near the office. Guess who's seated behind me, and has heard every gripe, grumble and grievance? By the look in Andrew's eye, I can't tell if I'm going to get fired or kissed.

Summary
Love changes people.
I’m the first to admit that I, Keaton Bridges, used to be an immature, entitled ass.
Okay, maybe I’m the second to admit it - after Roxy Carter.
That loudmouth.
But I’ve seen what true love has done for my friends, and I want it for myself.
Somehow, I’m the only single guy left.
Somehow, she’s the only single girl.
The only time Foxy Roxy hasn’t been a loudmouth?
That time we were making out at our best friends’ wedding.
And every time we’ve seen each other in the five years since then,
because she refuses to talk about it.
Well, she’s going to have to talk to me now.
It’s the dead of winter, and our six best friends were planning a getaway
at a Caribbean couples-only resort.
One of the couples had to drop out, and I refuse to be left out in the cold.
All Roxy and I have to do is pretend to be in love for one week so we can
spend some much-needed time with our favorite people.
And all I have to do is pretend I’m not dying to kiss her again.
Please note that this is a completely standalone story, but it includes crossover characters from Tonight You're Mine and Come Back to Bed.

Love it!!
This reminds me of the show Friends, if it was a sexy romance instead of a comedy. The Plus Ones is funny but it's sexier than it is funny (thank you). I think the characters are relatively relatable because either you are the last married of your friends or you have that bestie that's still single. I really enjoyed listening and will listen again and again because it delivers that feel good feeling. The narration, if you aren't familiar are top notch and it shows in this performance. 🎧Audiobook Obsession 🎧

So cute & fun!!
Welp. Kayley Loring does it again! Her books are some of my most FAVORITE to listen to. She writes characters that you can get completely wrapped up in and lost to.
The Plus-Ones was no different. Hero and heroine are part of a close group of friends. One night at a friends wedding they share an intimate kiss that isn’t forgotten on either of them, however heroine is scared to move on. Years later their group of friends have all married each other leaving only these two to be single. Their friends all assume they can’t stand each other and don’t try to push anything on them. And for the most part that’s how it seems between the two of them, until you hear their inner dialogues where there both DYING to have one more kiss.
Their group of friends secretly all book a couples resort together but keep it from them so as not to hurt any feelings. However, when they find out they decide that they want to be apart of the fun trip and are willing to pretend to be a couple to go! But, quickly they aren’t pretending anymore.
The chemistry between these two was so soooo good. It had the right amount of laughs and cute moments to steamy hot shower scenes. Seriously, you’ll never go wrong reading a Kayley Loring book, but this one was fun!

Solid Read
Audiobook review. I actually listened to this before the interconnected story that came before it and I was glad I did it that way because after listening to the first, I may have come into this story with some preconceived notions about our hero, Keaton. Roxy was a good heroine. She knew what she wanted and was sassy as all get out.
The plot was good. The character development showed progression pretty steadily. It was all around a solid read.
Mackenzie Cartwright and Teddy Hamilton did a stellar job as they are veterans to narration.

This is a great spin on the enemies to lovers trope. The author did a great job and making it seem fresh. The book was well written, the characters were very engaging, and the story was great. I thoroughly enjoyed losing myself in this book and look forward to more from this author.

Sweet, funny, enemies to lovers
This was the first book I have read/listened to from this author and I really enjoyed it. It was funny, steamy and addictive to listen to.
Roxy and Keaton have been enemies for years despite the instense chemistry between them. Instead of actually acknowledging the connection they have they chose instead to spend the time verbally sparring and snipping at each other until they are brought together on a 'couples' holiday.
Mackenzie and Teddy have done a brilliant job with this one. They really brought these characters and story to life, making the feels so much more.

Sweet and funny enemies to lovers romance
This is a funny story- while Roxy and Keaton are enemies, they have a lot of chemistry (and it really leaps off the page- or, since I mostly listened to the audio, it leaps off the earphone?). Because they are the last single people standing (it was great to visit with characters from prior books, by the way. I really loved checking in with them) they have to “couple” up to go on a couple’s trip. During the trip, they try to hide their attraction to each other but we lucky readers get the excellent banter and fun situations that are trademarks of a Kayley Loring book. (I would love a book about Jackpot, the dog. At the very least, he needs to be a fixture in these books…)
I would listen to Teddy Hamilton read a phonebook but then, we have him actually reading a funny, sweet rom com? Sign me up! He’s been a fixture for Kayley Loring books (thank you KL) and I’ve loved all his narrations. This is no different. Excellent comedic timing, pacing, control of his voice to play multiple characters. And, well, Mackenzie Cartwright is another fantastic narrator for all the same reasons so having them together in this dual narration? The story is just really brought to life.

Smart and sassy takes on humorously, heartwarming.
Smart and sassy takes on humorously, heartwarming. Loring digs deep into the insecurities of life, love and happily ever after with a fresh, comedic voice. The Plus Ones will have hearts cheering, lips smiling and senses on overload. Hamilton and Cartwright tickle the eardrums with an amazing delivery of what women what and why men tend to be a bit clueless. Keaton and Roxy take high maintenance to the next level of irritating with adorable results. Love means war and everybody wins in the most delightful way.

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧 Fun & Heartwarming!
This is a sweet and delightful story, it is a great slow burn frenemies to lovers type romance with a lot of charm and laughs. I enjoy Kayley Loring’s wonderful writing style, she creates stories that are captivating from start to end. Her characters are complex and well developed, they are likable and ones that are easy to relate to. I was happy to see Roxy get her own book, I adored her in “Tonight You’re Mine” her friend Aimee’s book, she is a hoot, full of sass and personality. Keaton also appeared in that book, I was not a fan of him then but he has come a long way personality wise and he redeems himself big time in this book. Roxy and Keaton share best friends and are godparents to their children. Roxy has avoided Keaton since they shared an intimate kiss five years earlier. The kiss was magical but she does not want to talk about it but Keaton is determined to. Their friends are leaving fora couple only vacation, when one of the couples back out they ask Roxy and Keaton to fill in and just pretend to be a couple. That is the plan and Roxy is determined to stick to it. I loved how this story plays out, it is well plotted with plenty of drama, humor, a bit of angst and a slow burn to a some hot romance. I loved these two together, they were like frick & frack, also love Keaton’s dog Jackpot and the sorry relationship he had with him. Kayley Loring, thank you for another fantastic story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride. #ROXTON4EVA
I listened to the Audible edition, MacKenzie Cartwright and Teddy Hamilton are awesome narrators and voice artists. They bring the characters to life giving each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture and project the characters emotions into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a delight to listen to. Frenemies to Lovers
Kaley Loring is just a master of RomComs. The character development is awesome. The banter is perfection. The story-line is familiar but done so well that doesn’t detract at all. This story will leave you with a big smile on your face. Get to know Keaton and Roxy you’ll be glad you did!
The narration is amazing!

This was a quick, laugh out loud at times and swoon worthy read. I loved the banter the H and h shared. The group texts were hilarious with their group of friends. I could feel the tension transforming into love between the characters. I have read the prior books as well involving the supporting characters so it was nice to see them in this one also and get more of a further timeline on them.
The narrators did a great job. I really thought they brought the characters to life. I finished this with a big ole smile on my face with a hearts and swoon epilogue. Definitely recommend.

Oh Gosh!
I feel for Keaton and Roxy! The narrators really brought this story to life. I was smiling, laughing, crying, and feeling every emotion possible. Keaton and Roxy's determination to not be anything but not-friends, especially on Roxy's side was frustrating but you could hear and feel their undeniable connection and attraction. The relationship with their friends was also so cute to see.

Karen. This book was fun, funny, and engaging as promised. The writing was very good and balanced, characters very relatable. This author was new to me, and what a pleasant surprise. This would be an enemies to lovers story, yet they were never really enemies and it didn't have that serious bite of just meanness for no reason often found in such stories. It was a story of growth, learning, compassion and understanding. It can be a standalone but looks as if the supporting characters in this story may already have stories of their own, though it's not listed as a series.
Narrators Mackenzie Cartwright & Teddy Hamilton did a fantastic job, awesome delivery, and laugh out loud moments. I was familiar with Teddy Hamilton and am a fan, but Mackenzie was also new to me. They made a great team for this book.

My new favorite enemies to lovers story
Enemies to lovers fans, meet your new favorite book! I loved it from the start. Roxy and Keaton are totally opposites. They can't stand each other. Well more Roxy can't stand him but he loves to push her buttons. They have to be in each others lives because they have mutual best friends and are god parents to the same boy. They end up going on a couples only vacation with their friends and pose as a couple. What is supposed to be fake starts to become so real. Then all they thought about each other is challenged. Did I mention they may have shared a kiss in the past? If you want hot steamy chemistry you have it in this book. I enjoyed it from the start to the end. While my heart was swooning, I was also cracking up at everyone's interactions. These narrators really were the perfect voices for these characters and brought them to life. I could totally picture them. Romance fans, make sure you check this one out.

Five giant stars!
This novel was so entertaining. Very witty banter, major chemistry between all the characters, and so many one-liners that had me in stitches. The text conversations and the game scenes were hilarious. I love rom coms that combine mature adults with low-angst story lines, relatable comedy and a sweet HEA. This one definitely delivered.
Narration was spot on. I love these two together. They do such a great job of bringing these characters to life and making you feel like you are a part of the bunch.
I loved hearing updates from past stories also. Come Back To Bed was equally as enjoyable and my on out complaint is that I wish I could have more from this group of friends. Highly recommended!

I Loved it!
Keaton and Roxy's story is so fun, sexy, and heartwarming! I loved it! Kayley Loring's writing is amazing! This story is a standalone, but it was fun to see again some crossover characters from Tonight You're Mine and Come Back to Bed. Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright did an outstanding job with the narration. I highly recommend it. Looking forward for more books written by Kayley Loring. #AudiobookObsession

I really enjoyed listening to The Plus Ones. It’s hard to be the only single ones in your group of now married friends. Even harder when said married friends are going on a couples only vacation to an island in the Caribbean.
How hard can it be to fake a relationship with the guy you have been avoiding for the last five years?? Why should Roxy and Keaton be left behind, just because they do not have a plus one?? With a guy like Keaton, I would volunteer in a heartbeat 😉.
Roxy gives in and accompanies Keaton on vacation. To a place where they have to pretend to a couple. But what happens when you aren’t pretending anymore? Does the relationship carry on back to real life?
I just loved Keaton’s dog, Jackpot. I think I got the most laughs from those two!
Mackenzie and Teddy did a fabulous job bringing Roxy and Keaton’s characters to life!
