Summary

Love changes people.
I’m the first to admit that I, Keaton Bridges, used to be an immature, entitled ass.
Okay, maybe I’m the second to admit it - after Roxy Carter.
That loudmouth.
But I’ve seen what true love has done for my friends, and I want it for myself.

Somehow, I’m the only single guy left.
Somehow, she’s the only single girl.
The only time Foxy Roxy hasn’t been a loudmouth?
That time we were making out at our best friends’ wedding.
And every time we’ve seen each other in the five years since then,
because she refuses to talk about it.

Well, she’s going to have to talk to me now.
It’s the dead of winter, and our six best friends were planning a getaway
at a Caribbean couples-only resort.
One of the couples had to drop out, and I refuse to be left out in the cold.
All Roxy and I have to do is pretend to be in love for one week so we can
spend some much-needed time with our favorite people.
And all I have to do is pretend I’m not dying to kiss her again.

Please note that this is a completely standalone story, but it includes crossover characters from Tonight You're Mine and Come Back to Bed.

enemies to lovers trope

This is a great spin on the enemies to lovers trope. The author did a great job and making it seem fresh. The book was well written, the characters were very engaging, and the story was great. I thoroughly enjoyed losing myself in this book and look forward to more from this author.

The narrating team did an excellent job. I truly enjoyed their portrayal of the characters.

Sweet, funny, enemies to lovers

This was the first book I have read/listened to from this author and I really enjoyed it. It was funny, steamy and addictive to listen to.

Roxy and Keaton have been enemies for years despite the instense chemistry between them. Instead of actually acknowledging the connection they have they chose instead to spend the time verbally sparring and snipping at each other until they are brought together on a 'couples' holiday.

Mackenzie and Teddy have done a brilliant job with this one. They really brought these characters and story to life, making the feels so much more.

Sweet and funny enemies to lovers romance

This is a funny story- while Roxy and Keaton are enemies, they have a lot of chemistry (and it really leaps off the page- or, since I mostly listened to the audio, it leaps off the earphone?). Because they are the last single people standing (it was great to visit with characters from prior books, by the way. I really loved checking in with them) they have to “couple” up to go on a couple’s trip. During the trip, they try to hide their attraction to each other but we lucky readers get the excellent banter and fun situations that are trademarks of a Kayley Loring book. (I would love a book about Jackpot, the dog. At the very least, he needs to be a fixture in these books…)

I would listen to Teddy Hamilton read a phonebook but then, we have him actually reading a funny, sweet rom com? Sign me up! He’s been a fixture for Kayley Loring books (thank you KL) and I’ve loved all his narrations. This is no different. Excellent comedic timing, pacing, control of his voice to play multiple characters. And, well, Mackenzie Cartwright is another fantastic narrator for all the same reasons so having them together in this dual narration? The story is just really brought to life.

Great narration and story

Just another great book by Kaeley Loring, honestly, her stories are perfect and I'm becoming addicted to her books.  They're light, easy and funny with not a lot of drama

Besides the great storyline and characters, the narration is perfection, both Mackenzie Cartwright and Teddy Hamilton did a perfect job bringing the characters to life.

I loved this story

The Plus Ones is the latest novel by Kayley Loring and another fantastic page-turner. I've loved every book I've read from this author and this novel was no exception. The Plus Ones is a romantic comedy that's sure to make you laugh out loud. It included both enemies to lovers and fake relationship trope and I was hooked from beginning to end. The novel was hilarious, steamy and sweet. I absolutely loved Keaton, Roxy on the other have took some getting used to as I really disliked her attitude in the beginning, however that did not stop me from fully enjoying this story. The appearance of the other couples from the previous books was an added bonus and I loved catching up with them. This novel was a fantastic read and I would highly recommend it to all lovers of romantic comedies.

I listened to the audible version of this novel which was narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright. These two have easily become two of my favorite narrators and they were absolutely perfect for the role. They did a fantastic job with the narration, their pace and timing was excellent and they infused the right amount of emotion into the story. It was a pleasure listening to them narrate this novel.

I loved this!!!

Roxie Carter and Keaton Bridges... they are the only singles left in a group of friends. Roxie thinks Keaton is a spoiled rich guy and Keaton... well.. he had a relationship that’s didn’t work and was leery. At their friends Chase and Amy’s wedding, they have a moment. Then she avoids him for the next five years.

They end up pretending to be a couple for a vacation at a couples only resort, and while there, they each realize there is more to the other person than they realize. They fall for each other.

I really liked this book!! It’s a wonderful story of two people who truly should be together, but aren’t.. at first.. Keaton and Roxie are so fit for each other. They need to be a couple.

Kayley Loring does a wonderful story writer! MacKenzie Cartwright and Teddy Hamilton are great narrators and did such a good job with this book!!!

So Funny!!!

Roxy and Keaton wind up kissing at their friends' wedding. They were both feeling lonely. For some reason, it goes wrong and they wind up having a very strained relationship afterwards. Until they are forced to spend an entire week together at a couple's resort when one of the three couples is forced to back out at the last minute. I thought this book would be so insanely cringeworthy that it wasn't even funny. What I didn't expect is that it was incredibly sassy and hilarious. Both Roxy and Keaton are just so adorable. I'm also very much in love with the cover if I may say so. Both of the cover models are very very attractive! I think I have made it obvious that I really adore Keaton and Roxy. I can't say they are the best characters of all times. There were times that both of them grated on my nerves now and then. Especially Roxy. She kind of got a little snobbish sometimes. I do wish that there were more of the secondary characters in the book than there were. A little more interactions with them, if you will. The narrators were great. I'm not sure if I've listened to anything by Mackenzie Cartwright or Teddy Hamilton before. To be fair, I do listen to a lot of audiobooks. I can say that even if I haven't, I will listen to more audiobooks by them in the future. Cartwright has this very sassy and alluring voice, and I'm pretty sure I have a voice crush on Hamilton. Is that a thing? I read this book because I was recommended it. I'm glad that I did. It's not the cheesy love story type thing you think it would be. It's very witty and hilarious. It's realistic and down to earth. It also has quite a few nice and steamy parts. I gushed over it. I didn't realize there were other books set in this world. I'll be getting my hands on them soon!

Smart and sassy takes on humorously, heartwarming.

Smart and sassy takes on humorously, heartwarming. Loring digs deep into the insecurities of life, love and happily ever after with a fresh, comedic voice. The Plus Ones will have hearts cheering, lips smiling and senses on overload. Hamilton and Cartwright tickle the eardrums with an amazing delivery of what women what and why men tend to be a bit clueless. Keaton and Roxy take high maintenance to the next level of irritating with adorable results. Love means war and everybody wins in the most delightful way.

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧 Fun & Heartwarming!

This is a sweet and delightful story, it is a great slow burn frenemies to lovers type romance with a lot of charm and laughs. I enjoy Kayley Loring’s wonderful writing style, she creates stories that are captivating from start to end. Her characters are complex and well developed, they are likable and ones that are easy to relate to. I was happy to see Roxy get her own book, I adored her in “Tonight You’re Mine” her friend Aimee’s book, she is a hoot, full of sass and personality. Keaton also appeared in that book, I was not a fan of him then but he has come a long way personality wise and he redeems himself big time in this book. Roxy and Keaton share best friends and are godparents to their children. Roxy has avoided Keaton since they shared an intimate kiss five years earlier. The kiss was magical but she does not want to talk about it but Keaton is determined to. Their friends are leaving fora couple only vacation, when one of the couples back out they ask Roxy and Keaton to fill in and just pretend to be a couple. That is the plan and Roxy is determined to stick to it. I loved how this story plays out, it is well plotted with plenty of drama, humor, a bit of angst and a slow burn to a some hot romance. I loved these two together, they were like frick & frack, also love Keaton’s dog Jackpot and the sorry relationship he had with him. Kayley Loring, thank you for another fantastic story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride. #ROXTON4EVA

I listened to the Audible edition, MacKenzie Cartwright and Teddy Hamilton are awesome narrators and voice artists. They bring the characters to life giving each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture and project the characters emotions into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a delight to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧

My new favorite enemies to lovers story

Enemies to lovers fans, meet your new favorite book! I loved it from the start. Roxy and Keaton are totally opposites. They can't stand each other. Well more Roxy can't stand him but he loves to push her buttons. They have to be in each others lives because they have mutual best friends and are god parents to the same boy. They end up going on a couples only vacation with their friends and pose as a couple. What is supposed to be fake starts to become so real. Then all they thought about each other is challenged. Did I mention they may have shared a kiss in the past? If you want hot steamy chemistry you have it in this book. I enjoyed it from the start to the end. While my heart was swooning, I was also cracking up at everyone's interactions. These narrators really were the perfect voices for these characters and brought them to life. I could totally picture them. Romance fans, make sure you check this one out.

Five giant stars!

This novel was so entertaining. Very witty banter, major chemistry between all the characters, and so many one-liners that had me in stitches. The text conversations and the game scenes were hilarious. I love rom coms that combine mature adults with low-angst story lines, relatable comedy and a sweet HEA. This one definitely delivered.

Narration was spot on. I love these two together. They do such a great job of bringing these characters to life and making you feel like you are a part of the bunch.

I loved hearing updates from past stories also. Come Back To Bed was equally as enjoyable and my on out complaint is that I wish I could have more from this group of friends. Highly recommended!

Keaton and Roxy's story is so fun, sexy, and heartwarming! I loved it! Kayley Loring's writing is amazing! This story is a standalone, but it was fun to see again some crossover characters from Tonight You're Mine and Come Back to Bed. Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright did an outstanding job with the narration. I highly recommend it. Looking forward for more books written by Kayley Loring. #AudiobookObsession

I really enjoyed listening to The Plus Ones. It’s hard to be the only single ones in your group of now married friends. Even harder when said married friends are going on a couples only vacation to an island in the Caribbean.

How hard can it be to fake a relationship with the guy you have been avoiding for the last five years?? Why should Roxy and Keaton be left behind, just because they do not have a plus one?? With a guy like Keaton, I would volunteer in a heartbeat 😉.

Roxy gives in and accompanies Keaton on vacation. To a place where they have to pretend to a couple. But what happens when you aren’t pretending anymore? Does the relationship carry on back to real life?

I just loved Keaton’s dog, Jackpot. I think I got the most laughs from those two!

Mackenzie and Teddy did a fabulous job bringing Roxy and Keaton’s characters to life!

Fantastic! #Roston4Eva

The Plus Ones is Kayley Loring's new laugh out loud enemies to lovers romance. This is my first book by Kayley and it definitely won't be my last. I had the pleasure of listening to this in audio and I was dying! Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright were freaking fantastic! I didn't read the other books with some of the characters and I wasn't lost at all. I do wish that I had time to go back and read them though. Keaton and Roxy have the same friends. They are the only single ones so they end up together a lot. Their relationship has always been a little hate/love but when they kiss at their best friends' wedding, everything changes. Roxy avoids Keaton. For five years! She thinks he's a jerkface player who's pretentious and annoying. When all their married friends plan a couples only vacation and they aren't invited it stings. Until one of them has to drop out and Keaton and Roxy have to pretend to be in love. In the same room. In the same bed. Little by little Roxy sees a different side of Keaton. He's really nothing like she thought he was even if he doesn't wear socks with his loafers. He's actually nice, sweet, funny, caring and hopeful. Keaton always knew Roxy was knock out gorgeous and a total pain in his butt, but now he's seeing a fun loving side to her. They are actually getting to know each other. Sharing stories about their lives. And the attraction between them just grows and grows. There is no way Roxy is going to fall for Keaton effing Bridges. Nope. Not going to happen. But when did he get so handsome and thoughtful. Uh oh. Will they give in and jump each other? Will their friends freak out? What happens when they get back home? Oh man! I LOVED this story! It was to freaking GOOD! Their friends were so funny! Jackpot the dog, priceless! The writing is fantastic and the narration is one of the best I've listened to. I laughed from the first minute until the last and I will definitely be listening to this one again! I'm Team Keaton. #Roxton4Eva

Fun and Funny

4.5 stars. I enjoyed the story from the start but it took me a few chapters to really connect with and embrace the characters. I was on the fence with Keaton and Roxy but once I connected I was completely hooked. The book was funny, there were quite a few laugh out loud moments. I love how all the characters interact, especially in the group chat, they felt like a real group of friends. I really enjoyed the games they played while on the trip and Jackpot, Keaton's surprisingly hilarious dog.

I freaking adore both Keaton and Roxy. They're both hardworking and intelligent, her sass and his wit made for great banter. Their chemistry was off the charts. #ROXTON4EVA

Mackenzie Cartwright and Teddy Hamilton were both fantastic narrators. They delivered the wit and humour perfectly, along with the emotions. They brought the whole story to life and it was a great listen. Highly recommended.
