Unlikeable characters in a difficult story
Tamsin is a whiny, unprofessional, manager who is need of some serious training. I need to put this out there first as the entire premise of this book revolves around something you should never ask an employee to do, and if you do ask then HR should be called in.
However, Tamsin does ask and Bea does comply and all hell breaks loose. I’ve no idea how Patrick managed to score Meesh, though he was a very well acted narcissist so she clearly fell for him love bombing her.
Adam essentially saved this entire book. He was a bit of light relief after so much Eastenders-esque melodrama when he was introduced to it. Though I can’t get over the fact that this entire story could have been resolved by people *having adult conversations*, which made the entire plot just too silly for me at points. I finished it and I’m still a fan of Ms Fallon’s work, though this definitely wasn’t one of my favourites :)

Slow start but it gets better
I've loved all of Jane Fallon's books so far. This one was a bit of a slow starter but once all the 'ground work' was laid at the beginning, it got so much better. A few twists and turns and a good ending. On to the next!

Lightweight
The story is passable, but too close to chick-lit for my taste. The tone in which is being performed matches that. But mostly it is so long drawn out, full of banal dialogue.
I clearly completely misinterpreted the summary. Was hoping for something more psychological. When now (much too late...) reading summaries of books by the same author I realize they probably are all in the same genre. I should have checked before.
As I will never be able to bring myself to listen to this book again I will probably return it.

Fun Chick Lit
I have read a few of Jane Fallon's books by now, and though they very much follow the same formula, I enjoy them. She has sassy characters and even though I can guess where the story is going, it is usually fun and entertaining. I read a lot of crime fiction or historical fiction, but once in a while, I like to break out of those genres with something lighter and this book did the trick. I look forward to reading what she comes up with next!

Uneven
This book had such a slow, dragging start, I almost gave it up. Then it picked up and I thought I had a five star read going- couldn’t put it down. But the ending was awful- like the author ran out of gas and didn’t feel like putting in the time to wrap up the story lines and just added a page to be done with it. SO disappointed!!! Narrator was awesome.

Always The One Left Out
I couldn't tell the narrator switched up, I was so in love with Genevieve Swallow's characterization in the story.
Jane Fallon storyline was mediocre however the narrator keep my attention to the very very interesting twist of an ending. I don't want to give it away however my title kinda does? smile
