A dangerous new order threatens the mission of the Knights of Arrethtrae. Only loyalty to the prince can bring victory!

As the Knights of the Prince await His triumphant return, they are steadfast in their mission to take His story into the kingdom and recruit as many as are willing. Sir Kendrick and his young charge, the impetuous Sir Duncan, are sent on a mission to discover the identity and origin of a secretive new order known as the Conquistero Knights. They travel to the city of Bel Lione where Lord Ra has been enticing young people in the kingdom to join his festivals, after which many choose not to return home. Their families keep quiet for fear of repercussion. When Sir Duncan disappears while trying to discover the truth of Lord Ra's castle, Sir Kendrick attempts to find and enlist the help of a mysterious warrior. Great book

Alright so I’m a 12 yr old and I loved this book. I have the book and now the audio as well so I’m like cool let’s hear it! I liked the hilarious voice of Landor I mean he’s an old man like 50 yrs old and he sounds crazy!!! If your going on a road long road trip not recommended only because it’s a short book. If you want a road trip book get tomorrow war by J L Bourne. But I really enjoyed this book and thank you chuck black. Oh and one more thing: WHY IS KENDRICK NEVER MENTIONED AGAIN IN THE OTHER BOOKS!!!!OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOF!!!!!

A MUST READ FOR YOUNG CHRISTIANS!

Although, the music was distracting at time (it would have been nice if there was an option or volume button), but overall this is a wonderful story of Christian faith with all those elements of character that we want our young people to see and exemplify. C.S. Lewis made a wonderful statement, he said, "Since it is so likely that children will meet cruel enemies, let them at least have heard of brave knights and heroic courage. Otherwise, you are making their destiny not brighter but darker. " And Chuck Black has done just that in this book. I loved it from start to finish.

Great story!

Listened to this with our kids on a road trip. It kept everyone engaged ( after the prologue) and interested. Knights in shining armor, a great battle to fight, and even a bit of romance. A great family listen!

Descent story but be warned..

Descent story. But be warned, this a story for young teens. Well worth the cost for that age.

I'm shocked by the high reviews

What would have made Sir Kendrick and the Castle of Bel Lione better?

If the story was about the prince instead of Kendrick, given how many pages were devoted to how awesome the prince is, i have to wonder, why are we reading about Kendrick?

What do you think your next listen will be?

Kris longknife

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Narrator was ok, but the prose seemed disjointed

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment

Any additional comments?

This was a short book. It felt like a side story instead of an intro to the world and characterthat the first book of a series should be. After listening, i still don't know who the villain is and why the hero is worth caring about.

The characters seem shallow and one dimensional. Evil is evil because it's evil. This was fine a century ago, but such characters seems ridiculous in the 21st century.

Middle School morality tale from a Christian Book

What disappointed you about Sir Kendrick and the Castle of Bel Lione?

Superficial, simplistic, not written for an adult, and weak even for the target age.

Would you ever listen to anything by Chuck Black again?

no

Would you be willing to try another one of the narrator’s performances?

Narration was not bad, but hate background music during narration.

Any additional comments?

Found it bad enough to be amusing and finish the 5 hr.
