Summary

Weather Warden Joanne Baldwin and her new husband, the Djinn David, are running from a malevolent hurricane bent on destroying her. Joined by an army of fellow Wardens and Djinn on board a hijacked luxury liner, Joanne has lured the storm into furious pursuit. My new best friend

Joanne Baldwin has been my companion on long journeys for a long time now and I look forward to being back in the car so that I can listen some more. I am now listening to the sequel to this book and will be devastated when it finishes. Joanne is clever, resourceful, self sacrificing, honest (to herself at least), sassy, well dressed (when possible), passionate, loves fast cars and shopping and (sometimes) has super powers. What more could one wish for in a heroine? Dina Perlman's reading of this is excellent. I am being finicky in that her depiction of a well bred English voice seems to borrow more from the East End than from Oxford. And the american pronunciation of khaki as kakki makes me giggle every time I hear it.

I enthusiastically recommend the whole series to everybody. I do suppose I should warn that when I have been travelling with my son (30) he expressed shock at a romantic scene but probably mostly because he was listening to it with his mother.

Spending my remaining credits would be oh so easy if there were another book in this series.
