Summary

What if you could defuse tension and create accord in even the most volatile situations - just by changing the way you spoke? Over the past 35 years, Marshall Rosenberg has done just that, peacefully resolving conflicts in families, schools, businesses, and governments in 30 countries all over the world. On Nonviolent Communication, this renowned peacemaker presents his complete system for speaking our deepest truths, addressing our unrecognized needs and emotions, and honoring those same concerns in others. With this adaptation of the best-selling book of the same title, Marshall Rosenberg teaches in his own words:

  • Observations, feelings, needs, and requests - how to apply the four-step process of Nonviolent Communication to every dialogue we engage in
  • Overcoming the blocks to compassion - and opening to our natural desire to enrich the lives of those around us
  • How to use empathy to safely confront anger, fear, and other powerful emotions

Here is a definitive audio training workshop on Marshall Rosenberg's proven methods for "resolving the unresolvable" through Nonviolent Communication.

Enlightening

This book explains a method for minimisation of violence through communication; this helps satisfy my need for safety and makes me feel hopeful in a positive outcome for the world and the people within.
The performance is excessively slow so I listened on 1.25 speed; otherwise, an excellent book.

Revolutionary yet simple

I don’t ordinarily write reviews, but I have to for this book. As someone who has always struggled to feel heard, I am eternally grateful to Marshall for relating his experience in such a way that I can clearly identify that it is I that must take responsibility for clarifying my feelings and needs, to myself and others.

Communication as you might never have known it.

My first formal introduction to nonviolent communication. Read in such a relaxed way that makes it easy to follow and absorb. The content is inspiring and some of the stories about Marshall's interactions brought tears to my eyes. The suffering of not being able to communicate fully, touched a personal note. This has given me the insight to know how much delight nonviolent communication can bring to the world. I shall be taking it on as a practice.
This could greatly benefit ones live or spiritual practice. Thanks you

This book could change your life!

There are not many books that I'd listen to twice.
There are even fewer I'd listen to twice in a row but this is one such book.

It helped me see errors in the way I communicate and provided a means to have more constructive and life-giving interactions.

I've always wanted to understand others and be understood. This has gone a long way in helping me get there through its practical insights and stories. I look forward to making a difference in the lives of others.

A highly recommended listen. 😊

Update : I'm on my 3rd listen, I would encourage you to really sit with the teaching points and of course, put them into practice. I'm realising so much about myself and others becuase of this book!

Update 2:

This is certainly a book that serves you more with each listen. I prefer 1.5 speed as the author is a bit slow for me but in any case, be sure to take notes and bookmark as you go. A must buy!

Good book that’s easy to understand and use

I liked this book because it’s really easy to understand. It also contains tools, and examples of how not to express yourself and then gives corrected versions of that expression.

The only thing I didn’t like was the instrumentals between the sections but other than that it was a really good book to listen to.

It’s a great aid if going through a counselling process and it was recommended to me by my counsellor. I have found that it’s helped me in my sessions a bit, and on occasion the book has been the focus of my session due to some of it’s content.

It’s also a great book if you’re looking to improve your communication skills across the board both professionally and personally.

To conclude: I can’t recommend it highly enough!
