The best volume so far, one that blew me away. The introduction of Ruijerd was great, and the mystery of the new world and the calamity that fell upon them had me itching for more information. The worldbuilding in this book was sublime, explaining the history of how the world was created, the different realms, the gods, and even learning about other races, climates and languages. The Rudy x Eris moments were cute, and reuniting the girl with her giant pet cat had me smiling. It also knew when to be serious; finding Blaze’s party completely slaughtered in the forest was a heavy moment. But the most impactful moment that made this volume special for me was Gablin being cut in half right in front of our party, due to Rudeus being in over his head and being too greedy. The group drama, inner turmoil and reality check that the aftermath of this gave Rudeus was strong character development.

Cliff Kurt does an outstanding job with the reading and the voices of the characters.
The progression of the story gets me excited and I do love the extra chapter in volume 3.

Cliff Kurt does another fine job narrating the story. He really does capture the narrative and character personalities with his narration. A fun volume with some great bits.
