Summary

Ages 10+

Fugitive. Criminal. Robot.

A sci-fi adventure for young listeners, Interview with the Robot introduces a unique heroine who seeks the truth about herself.

Eve looks like an ordinary 12-year-old girl, but there’s nothing ordinary about her. She has no last name. No parents or guardian. She’s on the run from a dangerous and secretive organization that will stop at nothing to track her down.

And most astonishing of all: she’s a robot, a product of Eden Laboratories. When Eve discovers the truth, she realizes everything she thought she knew about herself is a lie. Eve manages to escape, fleeing the lab, the only home she’s ever known.

After being arrested for shoplifting, Eve is interviewed by Petra Amis from Child Welfare Services. Her incredible story unfolds during the interrogation, with flashbacks to her life inside Eden Laboratories, which has a dark secret. Listeners follow Eve from her first moment of consciousness to her evolution as a nearly-human companion to Emory, the son of the founder of Eden Laboratories.

Exploring a range of topics that drive our society and our lives—topics such as artificial intelligence and human nature - Interview with the Robot is a story told by a startlingly original protagonist, a story that explores the vast potential of technology and the deep complexities of humanity.

Captivating mystery story

One of the best books I've listened on Audible - and I've got +50 titles. Initially bought it for my 10 years old son, but from the first minutes I've started listening to it with him. Performance is superb.

Great even for older listeners

The suggested age range for this is 10+, so I still fall into that category at 45 and I wasn't disappointed here. The concepts in this won't be new to anyone familiar with classic or more modern sci-fi but it's so well done here that doesn't matter. And if you see the twist coming it most likely won't diminish the emotional impact. That's the mark of a well constructed story.

Original story

I finished this book within 2 days. It was that good. Read this book with your children of 12 years and above. It's really interesting and engaging. You won't regret reading it.

Super cool

I found the story line a little odd, but very enjoyable. The narrator's were great and kept the story together for me. Would listen to this again.

THE BEST

I was listening to this literally everyday in the car, when I went to bed but the storyline was perfect and just the right Amount of predictability and unpredictability if that makes sense . I thought that the story would be too young for me but it was actually just right
I also learnt quite a few new facts and definitely loved

This was an excellent book, well conceived and written. The cast of character voices gave an excellent performance. An interesting story well told.

My Son Loves This Story!

Let me say, my son first listened to this audiobook during the pandemic, and has loved it ever since.

I feel this book became his safe place at night with all that was going on in the world. He listened to it night after night.

We have just come on holiday and he has asked me, after more than a year, to put it on. I repeat, it's his safe place.

He's a thirteen yo high schooler from the UK, and has the choice of many books to read and study, daily. So, the fact he always returns to this story means something.

Thank you for this book. I think you have found some lifetime readers, and I believe he would even tell this story to his children, if he has any, it means that much to him.

He told me to say, this story is rare and he could listen to it every day.
