I liked this book, but there is something about Audible that doesn't play Trigger Warnings?!! There is a lot of abuse in this book, it's even darker than the first and you get to hear the details. A good ending to an overall good story, but it made me uncomfortable... although I suppose that was the point!

I really enjoyed this book even more the the first one this one is definitely darker so be warned before you go into it, I can't say to much about what I loved without spoilers so I will say it was amazing a must read if you like dark romance, the narrators did a great job ( duet narration)

All hail H D Carlton, what a master piece, started off sitting bolt up right in bed slightly scared by the atmospheric writing to placing my hands over my face by the spicy parts not believing what I was listening to wow! dual narrative was beyond fantastic. There is a feeling of distaste and appalling heart retching moments by the underlying effort of what Zade is trying to rid the world of, The other side of this audiobook is hard hitting romance love and protectiong, im sure there is many people who would love a Zade Meadows in their life. it was the kind of book that made me go to work to discuss at length this amazing work, and that ladies & gents is proof of a brilliant mind at work ❤️

I really liked the first book in this duet, didn’t really find that one particularly dark. This one however.. pfff… it’s dark.. you start the book still thinking it’s all sunshine and roses and nothing really bad will happen.. then you get further along and you just quiet. You endure. You don’t like what’s happening but you still keep reading.. then.. the story gets a bit brighter, but it’s still dark, yet you can’t help but swoon over the way Zade is handling Adeline’s emotions.. their relationship has been written so well! Not really sure how I feel about the ending though.. it’s a bit.. anticlimactic in my opinion, too easy? Sibby is awesome as ever and I really hope she’ll get her own book too..
