Summary

Enter the brutal and elite world of a war college for dragon riders from New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Yarros

Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.

But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother’s daughter—like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant.

She’ll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise.

Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom's protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret.

Friends, enemies, lovers. Everyone at Basgiath War College has an agenda—because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die.

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

Amazing

the dramatized adaptation was simply amazing
the way they phrased and talked speak even the small catches of breath were simply wonderful for the story. I finished this within a day I couldn't stop listening the story The dialogues the way the voice actors just spoke it was filled with feelings and everything that you want to hear.I really hope they do a dramatized adaptation for the second book I'm really looking forward to it.

The audiobook we deserved!!

This audiobook was excellent! The full audio book production of one of the biggest fantasy books in recent years did not disappoint. The casting was excellent. I was particularly anxious about the voices for Tairn and xaden but the narrators embodied the characters so well and the rich sound scape added so much to an already addictive story!!! Cannot wait for Iron Flame to get the same treatment!!!

Xaden’s voice undid me 😅

Wonderful production and all the voices were perfect. But the warm layers and texture of Xadens voice was like warm honey relaying the depth of passion so well

Gripping Fantasy

This dramatised version is literally a movie in your mind! I LOVED IT! I listened and read along. The story is woven together so beautifully. Definitely a book I would read again and again. It is thunder lightening with enigmatic stories, shrouded in darkness yet tinged with an electrifying allure that beckons curiosity and adventure.

Great book. Narrated version is better

I absolutly love this book. The best I've read/listened to. This dramatized version isn't as good as the standard narrated version. It feels like they're trying too hard and comes across as more of a childrens book. Rebecca Soler is a much better narrator.

Enjoyable, Emotive, and Explosive!💥

Fourth Wing (Part 2 of 2)
(Dramatized Adaptation)
By: Rebecca Yarros
Narrated by a full cast: Robb Moreira, Megan Poppy, James Konicek, Khaya Fraites, Gabriel Michael, LaMont Ridgell, Taylor Coan, Torian Brackett, Rob McFadyen, Laura C. Harris, Jessica Lauren Ball
Length: 9 hrs and 22 mins

I didnt connect with this half of the dramatized version as I did the first half. I was really quite shocked by this, as its the most emotive content of the book!🤷🏻‍♀️ It all felt a bit contrived, too 'acted', if that makes sense? So I couldnt lose myself in the story how I would expect to.😢 I also really did miss the epitaphs at the start of each chapter.

I don't think i'll continue to purchase the remainder of the series in this style of audiobook, unfortunately! I think its extremely clever and will absolutely be a lot of peoples ideal way of listening - its just not mine, sorry!😔
