About this listen

He calls me perfect.

His flawless pet.

His good girl.

Broken down, and wounded by my emotionally neglectful ex, I wanted someone to tell me I was good enough.

Then, I stumbled into a new job with a boss who brought me to my knees - literally. He has me do things a real secretary would never do.

Emerson Grant tells me I’m more than just good enough. I’m worthy of his praise.

There are a million reasons why I should stay away. The owner of the Salacious Players’ Club is not just my new boss - he’s twice my age.

And my ex-boyfriend’s father....

With him, I am treasured. I am adored. I am his.

I’m a good girl, but I’m falling for the wrong man.

Emerson Grant knows what he wants - and he wants me.

So, how far will I go to hear his approval?

This is book 1 in the Salacious Players Club series. At the beginning of the book Charlie is leaving her current relationship with Bo. They are just not working out. She is forced to go to his dad’s house to get her half of her safety deposit from their apartment. Emerson is the new owner of the SPC kink club. When Charlie shows up to his house he mistakes her for one of the girls for hire. Then he offers a job as his actual secretary not to be his sub. However she is very intrigued by him and wants to be more to him and learn the lifestyle with him. Sara Cate did another amazing job writing a book that is more then just sexy, but wonderful characters with true emotions and a touch of taboo. Jack Calihan and Vivienne LaRue did an absolutely phenomenal job narrating this book.

Wow, this is a brilliant start to a new series, I loved everything about this book, from Sara Cate’s wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines she created to the perfectly cast narrators who bring it all to life from the pages to your ears. It is great to see another side of Sara Cate’s brilliant mind, she has a great ability to draw you into her stories, grab your attention and captivate it the entire book, a story that is so enthralling that nothing around you matters, just what is going to happen next in the book. Praise is all that and more, a forbidden, age gap romance that may take some out of their comfort zone but like her other books, it is so well presented and tastefully done that there are no qualms about any of it at all. The characters in this book are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to care about and even fall for. When Emerson Grant and his work colleagues and friends found out the company they worked for was dissolving, they went into business themselves. This came about after a discussion about how many people have different wants, needs and kinks, so opening a kink club where people could do their thing without judgement or shame. Emerson had his own kink, he liked to dominate and take care of his subs, but he just plays and does not offer any long-term relationships. Charlotte lived with her boyfriend, Beau, but she left him when she found out he was cheating on her, when she asked him for her half of the rent deposit back he told her it went to his estranged father and if she wanted it she needed to get it herself. Which she does and his father was not what she was expecting at all, their first interaction did not go very well when Emerson mistakes her for a new sub. Emerson can not get her out of mind and he tracks her down and offers her a job as his assistant, just that and nothing more. The more time they spend together to more they realize that there is chemistry between them, she is curious about the club they are opening too. Emerson knows she is off limits, but Charlotte thinks nothing is wrong with it, she is twenty-one and he is forty, but that gap does not matter to her, she has never felt a connection like that to man before. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story is brilliantly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, steamy romance and kink scenes which are well written and done. Sara Cate, thank you for another exceptional story and emotional rollercoaster ride, I am looking forward to what comes next in the “Salacious Players Club” world.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Sara Cate could not have cast better narrators to bring her characters and story to life. Jack Calihan and Vivienne LaRue are fabulously talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that was a perfect fit to that character’s persona, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. LaRue nailed it as Charlie grasped her every emotion and had you feeling every single one. Calihan did the same for Emerson and was just as amazing. Both were great performing all the secondary roles too. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this wonderful listen.
