Summary

A village full of gorgeous elves desperate to be loved? There had to be a catch.

Sebastian Frost’s most recent memory was waking up in a field naked, in a body that wasn’t his own, in a world that definitely wasn’t his own, and three stunning pointy-eared women staring right at him. He also remembered hair as white as starlight, eyes like amethysts, and the name Shalia.

Fortunately, it was the right name to know.

Shalia was the elves’ goddess, and that made him her herald. If that wasn’t enough of a blessing, he was in a game world, he was high level, he had hundreds of ability points to spend, and the elves were practically throwing themselves at him.

Of course, there was a catch.

Shalia, her followers, and now, Frost himself were viewed by the world as bringers of misfortune and everybody hated them. Although, to be fair, Frost was going to rain misfortune on anybody who attempted to harm his lovable new followers.

Herald of Shalia is a fun fantasy litRPG by Tamryn Tamer and contains attention-starved elves, beast-girl courtesans, foul language, twosomes, threesomes, and foursomes, and completely over-the-top love-making. You've been warned.

Good book, but a bit over the top

Really interesting story and magic system. Narration is great. Characters are really developed well, until 2nd half which is about sex. Too bad, it got boring and the story just stopped. First half is really good. Second half is just filled with orgies and all women are lesbos. I don't mind the sex, but it bring nothing to the story and there is no emotions in it, except for lust (for anything by anyone). Will probably check out book 2, but it feels like it will more of the 2nd half.

Awesome and fun listen

Ok let’s be real. Is the premise super original? Not really. However it is surprisingly well done, with a main character that is refreshingly different enough that I really enjoyed the story. The world was believable enough, and overall I enjoyed this a lot. Waiting for the next one. Performance wise I think the male narrator could have done a bit more to sound more like he was talking with people, but this was only really noticeable in the first few chapters, before I got used to it. Also the fact is that the female narrator is the one you hear 75% of the time, which makes it less of an issue overall

Yey! Frost on Audio

My favourite litrpg/harem series finally on Audible. My only quibble is that Renna’s insults could be delivered with more bite but loved it otherwise. Thanks for the great work.

One of the best so far

Warning this book is for adults! I read this book a while back and was impressed with it. The same story line as a whole lot of others. But what makes this series stand out is the characters and their interactions with each other. At times you are drawn into the story by the characters, it's their interactions the banter between them. The way they great each other. They become real people. I know it's a fairy tail but it still draws you into the story. Ok now on to the audio version, when I read a book I tend to read it as if I was listening to them in real life. When I purchased one I was excited as it was a great book then I plugged in my headphones and the story came to life! The voices were copies of how I read them. It only got better! The way they acted out the interactions between characters was excellent. I only hope the same narrators continued on into the rest of the books! Well done!

New. Favorite. SERIES!!!!

Y’all! Lemme tell y’all something. First chapter in, my heart fluttered. Second chapter in, I swooned. By the third chapter I was full-on in love. By the end of the book I looked like a mix between James McAvoy in Wanted with my heart racing and sweat pouring out of every inch, yes I said EVERY INCH of my body and passing out from sexual bliss!! What!? It’s a thing!! I’m not sure if it’s possible to have a wet dream while awake but I came damn close! In all seriousness, though, this book was just that good. The story and character progression was spot on and the sex scenes were just A-MAZING!! If you haven’t read it or listened yet, do so. NOW!! You won’t be disappointed. Unless, of course, monster girls and explicitly detailed sex scenes aren’t your thing. In that case, you’re probably better off passing this one by. ; )

I own a 1000 audio books this is top 5

Just so ready for next 3 in series just 1 of the best characters and narration of all books I've ever listen too if you don't mind graphic very descriptive sex. If this book had no graphic sex it still would be a top 10 book just from a wonderfully done story and narration. But the graphic part is pretty awesome too and on an adult level not a teen trying to describe it

Wow... just wow!

Been a fan of the Herald of Shalia books for a while now. And I must say both Amber and Kieran did an incredible job of narrating it to life. Absolutely fantastic! The book's main character, Sebastian Frost, starts out being dropped on a world by a goddess to be her selected Herald. This world has the litrpg mechanics where you have to level up to thrive. Frost essentially has to come to terms with his new reality while choosing between his own self interest or the presumptive constituency that are Shalia's followers, whom desperately needs a leader and guidance. The task is daunting as no other Herald or country wants an upstart following near or within their borders. The system is well done. But I think the strongest aspect of this book is the incredible detail and realism the author manages to bring with the characters. Not only the characters, but the world's societal interactions are completely nuanced with regards of realism. Things aren't just good or evil, nor are they "shades of grey". Every character and or organisation (country) has driven motivations that brings this story to life. I absolutely love the banter moments between Slade and Frost and can't wait for more. Please do book 2 SOON! PLEASE! Again, fantastic job to both narrators with their phenomenal performance in bringing this series to life. Advisory warning, this book has intense sexual descriptions, violence, both harems and monogamous relationships, foul language, incredible humor of realism, and extreme character titles that mmo's would be sued over. Listen to this highly fun and entertaining story at your own risk.

very fun and sexy story

I felt the story was very well written it was entertaining and kept me riveted. the voice actors and actresses were spot on and added depth and dimension. I have to say, Amber Lee Connors, the female voice actress did a very good job on the sexy parts and emulating the different voices of the different women. And the male voice, Kieran Flitton, did a great job emulating the main character. I for one would love to be able to listen to book number two thank you for doing a job well done, author and voice actors.

Amazing story

Wonderful story interesting use of game mechanics. I love the interplay of politics, power leveling and crafting . Can’t wait for the next installment of this book. Looking forward to the city planning. I think what I love most is how the MC is not obvious too OP or dumb. But uses basic knowledge and skills to his advantage. While at the same time has flaws and gaps in the worlds knowledge and politics. The audio was perfect for this book. The vocals used are one of my favorites. Wish for more in the series!

Love the story but....

Love the story but the narration was off. Maybe is was the editing or pacing, I don't know. The narration was read like a romance novel and with the male voice added in just broke up the flow. It's one the few books I'll just read again instead.
