Summary

Levi Walker reached Taryl after a real bad day at college. An angry walk in the rain led to Truck-Kun and a quick trip to reincarnation. If dying wasn't bad enough, Levi wasn't off the hook for his higher education.

Reborn on Taryl and sent to the Academy, Levi is expected to learn how to wield powerful magics. A glitch in the Reincarnation Network has left him with a new body and no idea what’s going on. He’s been told he has great magical potential, but no one is sure what kind.

Now Levi has to accept magic is real, mana vapor makes airships fly and “Horrors” from another dimension feed on unsuspecting victims. If that’s not bad enough, he still has to do homework.

Fortunately, Levi has always been a quick study.

A good start

A good start to the story, doesn't feel rushed as the background of the power structure is throughly explained and enough world building to understand what's going on.
Love the companion relationship!

A real sleeper

The story was done in a way that it drew me in, just couldn't put it down.
The narrators did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life. They gave each character a personality which personalized the story. It makes you pick favorites
I can not wait for the next book.

Well done! 5*****

Look forward to the sequel

Enjoyed this audiobook and wished it had been longer.

The books from the author of Accidental Incubus so you know it's going to be good. The Main Character feel like a legit individual, not some whiny teen or egotistical edge-lord, but someone who has been thrown into an unknown environment and has to quickly adept to his new surroundings. The focus of the story revolves around a magical academy which has 6 house's and different types of magic like in Harry Potter

First team I've listened to the two narrators, Jonathan Waters, Katana Jones and though they did an excellent job keeping my engaged whilst giving each character a distinguishable voice.

I checked out Deacon's Patreon and saw that he is currently writing the second instalment and will be sure to purchase the sequel.

Great Book with Amazing Narrators

Levi is an amazing character with complex emotions and someone you can actually understand instead of the typical transferred to another world and is all of a sudden amazing at everything and forgets his old life. He feels anger, sadness and even love. Deacon Frost did an amazing job creating all his characters especially the female characters that a lot of authors in harems struggle with including putting a restriction on the Levi that keeps him from bedding every female character. The narration of this book is arguably the best I have ever heard and really hope they are able to continue doing it!
All and all this is an amazing read from start to finish and even has moments where you laugh out loud.
The only problem I found with this book is at this time the second one is not available yet! The sec it is I will be reading it!

Stock academy elements turned into very fun story!

Much of Raven House is similar to the many other Academy novels that abound in haremlit these days, and I initially thought this would be a generic story worth 3 or 4 stars. Well, so much for first impressions….give this book a chance - it grew on me and ultimately I’m surprised to realize that it earned 5* from me.

Much of the audiobook shines because of the fantastic narration; while Jonathon Waters does an excellent job…Katana Jones is becoming a favorite narrator!

While many elements may sound formulaic… they really work in Raven House. Yes, we have the “bully” - but how many times does the “bully” earn a “hilarious” notation? Darren manages it here! While a hot headmistress and a hot tutor may be expected….in Raven House they’re also appreciated!

All-in-all the only surprise in Raven House is how well the author delivered what could have been cookie-cutter pieces of a routine story, and instead gave us a very fun adventure! 4* for the story, with an added 1* bonus because of the narration = a 5* recommendation.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Receiving a review copy did not influence my rating or my review.

Super Good

Deacon Frost did so good on this series, I don't usually listen too harems but this book was too good.
The harem elements weren't bad. Tonnie was my favorite, the secret relationship they have with her being a mistress is super good, she's also a dark elf.
Pros

This series is awesome, The characters are unique and I don't get a how person could love cupcakes so much (aka nox). I love the Abilities in this story, there so unique. Levi is a beast tamer with a dragon and a squirrel. He's also apparently a Demon lord. The character progression is somewhat lacking, The premise of this book is awesome, you barely ever get good acedamy books, This one has all the elements of one. He trains, Goes to classes and it ended on him going to his second year. The fighting in this book I feel is lacking, just because be can't control his powers. The entire book he's just using his "demon" powers without any control at all. The narrators were good also, Jonathan waters does so good and I love the voices he makes, there all different and you can tell every who every character is. Levi is also really cool. He's basically a half dragon with a Cain and glasses, it might sound dumb but he's like a cool isekai character, since that's basically what he is. There's alot of other stuff I loved in this story but I got most of it.

Cons
I Hate how he has no control over his powers, he'll obviously get more control in the second book but I feel like he makes dumb decisions and doesn't try to fix them. The interactions in this book are also annoying. He'll get mad at a bully and they'll be about too fight and he just stops, no fight, no anything and it's because it'd be a dumb decision too fight them. If that's the case he should just keep his anger under control. I also don't like how he didn't train combat, he trained abit but I want him too learn how to fight with his fists and actually be able to protect himself, I know only 6 months passed in the story but still... other than that I have no other complaints/cons.
I'd like too address this tho. I hate it when the Mc gets transported to another world and there's people waiting for him and they act like he's supposed too know it all, likes he just died and came here Answer his questions!!!. I feel like it's so unrealistic.

This book isn't bad at all and I really love it. I can't wait for book 2 and I think if you listen too this series you'll love it also.

Thank you deacon Frost for writing this masterpiece.

Good Narrators Plus Appealing Story Equals...

A great experience. First and foremost, the dual-narrators for this story did a great job (There may have been a slight audio issue in the beginning during Katana Jones parts with volume fluctuations but it seemed to have resolved itself).

Story starts with the typical MC is hit by truck and is reincarnated/isekaid to another world, but quickly turns into a solid magic academy story. It loosely gives the feel of Harry Potter, different houses that have their own specializations and a well defined caste of characters that are easy to like (others that you will love to hate). Having a competent MC that is both a tamer of monsters, as well as having an unique powerset because he is a reincarnate from Earth, sets the stage for a lot of potential growth.

Pretty much everything from learning alchemy, to fighting monsters, to dealing with friendly/hostile classmates and faculty was enjoyable. With all the potential threats both inside and outside the academy that have been established by the end of this book, book 2 is easily set up to be even better.

P.S.- One glaring pet peeve that needs to be mentioned. While this author isn't, by any means, the only one that does this, there needs to be a better way to transition to the next scene after a battle by having the MC pass out/blackout. When the MC is passing out 3-4 times a book...

Granted the battles are well written, and the narrators really bring the scenes to life. Overall, very well done.

Zuzan for book main!

Truck-kun strikes an average college student and sends him into a new world! The characters have depth and don’t feel flat or forced into positions. It contains character growth (no stats this time, I can’t tell if I miss them yet or not, time will tell) a harem of what we can assume will be fierce ladies and just a bit of spice. Looking forward to seeing what comes of this series…

I have also seen several of his creative images for Zuzan on his social media, so I will add: ZUZAN FOR BOOK MAIN!
