Summary
Simon Lewis is having some trouble adjusting to his new life as a vampire, especially now that he hardly sees his best friend Clary, who is caught up in training to be a Shadowhunter - and spending time with her new boyfriend, Jace. Simon decides he needs a break and heads out of the city - only to discover that sinister events are following him. Realising that the war they thought they’d won might not yet be over, Simon has to call on his Shadowhunter friends to save the day - if they can put their own splintering relationships on hold long enough to rise to the challenge….

Totally entertaining
I have to say this book was great and Ed Westwick was fantastic Molly C.Quinn on the other hand was ok for the most part but her pronunciation of certain words or names was awful I can only imagine that she was new to the mortal instruments an had never been told how to pronounce them but once you get over that you enjoy the book as it is

Great
I really enjoy when a book explore lives of "secondary characters" and I very enjoyed the book exploring Simon's life.
I didn't enjoy as much the changes of the narrators though because just when you are used to one voice and who is who, the narrator changes and you have to get used to the new voices again.

Great story
Loved the story, though the performances of the readers let it down. The female in particular sounded like she would rather be anywhere else other than in the studio. Shame.

struggling to listen
Have been listening to the books back to back and the narrators jarred badly to the point that it is so distracting from the story and the characters that we've got to know over the last three books. Male narration better but Simon is very inconsistent and female voice is throughly off putting. Trying to get through to the end of the book as really like the story and invested in the characters. Hope book 5 has improved !!

Great book but annoying narrator
Good story, I've read these in order. The male narrator is good but the female make clary sounds like a whinny little twit.

Weakest in the series, performance-wise
It's a great listen in any case, simply because the books are good and the quality holds up throughout the series, but when it comes to performance, this is the weakest one. Molly C. Quinn has an unfortunate habit of reading the book like a spiritual meditation tape. Her interpretation of the text knocks a few years off the intended audience age group and gives it a very teenage-y, breathy tone. I didn't dislike the audiobook but I am glad they replaced her.

Best of the series
Would you listen to City of Fallen Angels again? Why?
The story line continued with what happens in the love lives of all the characters. The story was so exciting. I felt like I was watching a film A great end to the series
What other book might you compare City of Fallen Angels to, and why?
I have not read a series this exciting, where I felt I had to read the next book.
What does Ed Westwick and Molly C. Quinn bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Did not like the narration at all. I had got used to the narrator of the previous 3 books. Why did you change? And why 2. Both were poor readers. I nearly bought the book to read myself.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. I could not leave it down. The pace of the story increased in the last few chapters. Great read
Any additional comments?
As I listened to the previous 3 books I knew the characters and felt comfortable with the story line. This book was so poorly read, I only stuck with it so I could discover the ending. These books were well written. I was completely drawn into the world of Shadowhunters, Downworlders and Demons. A great ending!

Amazing Except the Female Voice Actor
Heavens I love these books and the male voice is beautiful and gravelly but the female ruined it for me. She was too high pitched and couldn't pronounce basic plot words such as Stele and Idris. It completely put me off listening for 6 months.
