Summary

The hotly anticipated next novel from number-one best-selling author David Walliams, with audio hilariously read by the author himself!

Jack's Grandpa wears his slippers to the supermarket, serves up Spam à la Custard for dinner, and often doesn't remember Jack's name. But he can still take to the skies in a speeding Spitfire and save the day....

An exquisite portrait of the bond between a small boy and his beloved Grandpa - this book takes readers on an incredible journey with Spitfires over London and great escapes through the city in a high-octane adventure full of comedy and heart.

Great, exciting story!

my kids had read the book so we downloaded it for long car journeys, it was brilliant great, fun story of alzheimers & the affects it can have on the family especially kids. that keeping the dream or memories alive can help the person relive their adventures yet let the child know what that person was really like before getting the disease. well read by David Walliams. definitely recommend it!

Enjoyed it

My 10 year old son & I listened to this together. It's charming. Very long & a bit slow at times. Worth listening through until the end.

David Walliams has made something beautiful.

I listened to this audio book with my eight year old son. Such a lovely story and a good way to learn a little about World War Two.

Wonderful adventure, touching, funny, unafraid.

Must-read. Loved it. Laughed, cried, very satisfied with the ending. A fate better than death.
