Summary

I ruined his life.

It was my investigation that sent his father to jail. It was my fault his mother killed herself shortly after. I’ve regretted it every day since. When he shows up in my Journalism class, I know I’m in trouble.

Cullen Ayers wants to make me pay. His torment becomes my life, and I endure every moment because I deserve it. What started as revenge quickly turns into lust. He’s only eighteen, and I should be ashamed of how good this feels when we’re alone, but I can’t help myself. I’m in too deep. I’m starting to discover his family’s secrets go far deeper than I first thought. The more I uncover, the more ways he finds to punish me.

Cullen wants to ruin me for life, and I’m afraid he already has.

This title was previously published in the Tangled Sheets anthology as Spitfire but has a new title, cover and added content!

Warning: This is a dark, bully romance with explicit content that may be triggering to some listeners, including dub-con, abuse, and murder. Cullen Ayers is covered in red flags, but the bigger the bully, the better the redemption.

One sit read

When I started this, I really didn't know what to expect, and it took me on a wild ride. It hits a lot of tropes I go crazy for. Age Gap, student/teacher, bully. Add in the fact that Everly is the teacher and Cullen is not only her student, but they have a history, this was a recipe for success. They fight the instant scorching connection but its pointless. The spice is dirty, there's a sprinkle of kink and a dash of suspense. It was a super fast paced and addicting read for sure. I volunteered to listen to a complimentary copy of this. All opinions are my own.

LOVED IT!

There is a fine line between love and hate. When passion runs hot, desire is counted into the equation, then you hold on and enjoy the ride. Journalist Everly encounters a blast from the past. Years ago, her story and the evidence within it put 10-year-old Cullen Ayers's father, George Ayers, away for human trafficking. Eight years later, Cullen is eighteen and in her class, where she tutors at the university. Now, he is determined to torment her for destroying and tearing his family apart. But fate has other plans. The chemistry between Everly and Cullen was explosive. Their story is a brilliantly written enemy to lovers' romance; it's passionate, steamy, exciting, and unpredictable. I seriously couldn't get enough.

Allie Martina and Gideon Frost's narration was spot-on. They depicted the character's personalities, emotions, connections, and the intensity of the scenes perfectly. They made the book even more enjoyable. As for Sara Cate, she never disappoints, she is an exceptionally talented author, and her characters are always captivating. Burn for Me was no exception; it's jammed-packed with elements that totally draw you in. I can't wait for the second book in the Spitfire series to be released.

Wow!

This is one hot commodity! Both the storyline and the delivery by two excellent narrators, make this a compelling, intense listen which hss kept me in its grip throughout! The plot involves deep passion of across the full gamut, from hate and the desire for revenge, to lust, control and love. Both Evelyn and Cullen seem isolated, though Evelyn does have one close friend and a family, while Cullen truly seems to be alone. I have felt totally involved with the outcomes of this collision of two seemingly very different people! 💖💖💖💖💖

Hot and intriguing read!

This is a enemies-to-lovers/bully, reverse age gap, teacher/student, forbidden romance that have it all: full of twists and turns, dark drama, it’s also intense and so steamy! A captivating story that was well written. The title literally says it all.
I absolutely loved Cullen and Everly’s story and I loved every part of their dynamic. I can not recommend it enough!
The Narration is amazing! Both narrators Allie Martina and Gideon Frost are new to me. They are very talented and brought this book and all the emotions to life.

Burn for Me

Wow! I love Sara Cate books! She writes amazing books that skim the border of taboo. This a teacher student relationship with deeper and more twisted connections. This also touches on some slight BDSM themes. Then Sara adds her flair. In this book the dom is the 18 year old student. I loved it! This book was 🔥🥵. Allie Martina and Gideon Frost did a phenomenal job narrating.

Burn 🔥 for Me 🤯🔥🔥🔥 May have some SPOILERS!

Man this was very kinky and hot. Makes me want to be a teacher and find me a student like that lmao jk jk. But dang this poor guy guy did go through some really bad shit when she did that story on his dad. Even though his dad deserved it but the poor boy didn't. But when he starts to to do all those things to her. Then she starts to enjoy them to me she starts to look forward to his Cruelty. But damn I would too. But I just love the fact that he fell for her and didn't know what it was. How he keep fighting his feelings. She had already been I. Love with him thats why she put up with so much shit. But omg that ending 😭 it just made my heart break . I was like no she can't die just when they both found happiness and then the unthinkable happened he shows up and he's the one that gets hurt. Noooooo they can't kill him off. Then to find d out the evil dad didn't die was very upsetting. But at least he got everything he's ever wanted . This is a must read/listen to you guys are going to love ❤ it. And the narrator's did an amazing job too. Good job guys. ALLIE MARTINA ALWAYS GIVES A WONDERFUL Performance. Good job thanks again for a great book.

Captivating!

Burn for Me has a unique storyline that is captivating, dangerous, hot and full of suspense with some unexpected twists and turns. It is a reverse age gap, bully, student/teacher dark romance. It covers a lot of different tropes and has many potential triggers in it. I've never actually read a reverse age gap romance so it felt a little different to me considering their rather unusual connection but I enjoyed the storyline and would listen to more books by Sara Cate. Allie Martina and Gideon Frost both did an excellent job bringing this story to life.

Terrific Story & Listen🎧Dark,Twisted & Addictive!

Sara Cate never ceases to amaze me with her fabulous writing style and brilliantly creative and maybe even a little twisted mind, ok maybe a lot twisted. Twisted or not, she has a knack for grabbing her readers and/or audiobook listeners’ attention and holding it hostage for her entire book, heck she even has you feeling for the villain of the story and then rooting for him. And that is exactly what happens in “Burn for Me”, this story may not be an easy one and it may even take you out of your comfort zone but hang on because it is so worth the wild and crazy ride. The story starts out giving you a glimpse in a day of Everly West’s life, an investigative journalist who was working on a piece that started when she was a grad student interning at the Florence Times, all the time and work paid off and the trial for George Ayers ended in a conviction and jail time. She knew he had a wife and a son, even saw them in the trial room, saw the hate in the son’s eyes, but she did not think of them much afterwards. The story jumps to the present which is eight years later, she has left her position at the Times to teach journalism at Florence University and this is where her past comes back to haunt her, Cullen Ayers, George Ayers’ son is a student in her class and he does not hold back with his hate for her. He blames her for ruining his life and he is going to make her pay by making her life a living hell. Cullen plays on her every nerve and emotion, so much so she loses her all her facilities and smarts to not only fight him off but fight him back too. ls it bad that I wanted to smack some sense in her head at first, I get her guilt for not doing more for him when he was younger she tried to placate him and redirect his hate but Cullen was blinded by his hate for so long it absorbed him. But things start to turn around, feeling develop and he starts to open his eyes. This is a fantastic enemies to lovers romance, I loved the originality of it and that it not your typical bully romance or typical age gap romance. The story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt emotions, some are gut-wrenching too. Sara Cate, thank you for another amazing story & emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Sara Cate chose the perfect cast to bring her characters and story to life, Allie Martina and Gideon Frost are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that was the right fit for their character’s persona, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Allie Martina played Everly with perfection, grasped all sides of her personality and her vulnerability. Gideon Frost did the same for Cullen, nailing the hate, bringing out his inner turmoil and lightening it up towards the end. Both were great performing the roles of the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. Both are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen.
