Summary
What if, one morning, you look in the mirror and no longer recognize the person looking back?
When Leelo can no longer identify herself by the roles that once defined her, it's both terrifying and liberating. Oh, she feels the loss, grief, and the anger, but when she inherits property up north, she jumps at the promise of freedom and independence. Yet, not everyone in her new community is what they seem, starting with the surly mountain man down the road.
As owner of the local fishing lodge, Roar is content with his everyday life. And the older he gets, the less he appreciates change. So, when a blue-haired, tattooed "city girl" moves into the old motel, shaking up his daily routine, he’s none too pleased. Still, something about the woman’s easy smile and almost reckless grit has him step up as her keeper.

Mid life romance
I really enjoyed this romance. The theme of having a fresh start, in a rural community, is very appealing. The heroine, Leelo, is refreshingly snarky and non traditional, with her unconventional appearance and older age. Roar, the hero, comes across as patient and laid back - her complete opposite! There are are some nice secondary characters and the small town setting is portrayed well. The narration is excellent and fit the characters to a t.

Loved It!
This one ticked all the right boxes for me. I've always enjoyed Freya Baker's stories but this one's become on of my top faves of hers. It has the perfect amount of drama, humor, romance, and spice! The characters are so relatable. I really liked that.
The narrators did a great job bringing the characters to life. They were both perfect for the roles.

an enjoyable adult romance
The narration was excellent. This was Austin Barringer's first narrated book???? Well, I want more of him, wow! Great voice. Anneliese Rennie made a great Leelo - voice seemed to fit the character.
This is a complete standalone as I don't think anyone from book 1 even made an appearance (side note - I recommend and really enjoyed book 1).
Both MCs are in their mid-40s so its an underrepresented age group that many readers have been asking for.
I think I enjoyed what I thought the book was going to be about more than the actual storyline. I love outdoorsy books so when you have a fishing lodge owner in a small northern town I wanted more of that and less renovation of a hotel. I didn't care for that storyline at all - it wasn't a mystery and it dragged on. 3.5 stars on that part.
Loved Roar! Leelo was good but honestly, what's with all the crying/about to cry - it was in almost every chapter. I was ready to slap her - Jesus woman get a grip.

Fabulous!
I have romped through this delightful audio, beautifully performed by Austin Barringer and Anneliese Rennie. With attractive, interesting characters and a sense of the effort in making a new family, I found myself immersed in the story and carried along by the voices telling it. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

A Change of View, book 2
I'm loving this well written and addictive series, Leelo and Roar are relatable, funny and flawed in their own way by their past experiences, throw in a bunch of side characters from force-of-nature mothers to exes and opinionated children and you get a wonderful cast for a great story. Enthusiastically and well narrated that pulled me in as a listener and kept me glued till the very end.

Loved the ....
I love this book. I love the fact that the MFC where a bit older and not the doe-eyed 19-year old (which I have troubble relating to). Story was great, narration was great...only negativ thing I can say is that the female narrator sounded a bit too old sometimes. But I got over that because the rest was so good. More mature MFC's in romance books, please!

What a change of view!
Leelo is my kind of woman. Empowered by her pain, she goes to the end of nowhere to start over and with a new business. She encounters many neighbors but Roar, although a quiet man, stands out. They make an awesome couple. Her kids are sweet and coming out of age. It’s a struggle what she set up to do but it had great rewards. Loved the story!

Book 2 Standalone
I completely enjoyed this book. I loved the characters. Everyone seemed so real. I was totally wrapped up in this story and was trying to guess who what and why the entire time. The narrators were great and made the book that much better. HEA. I recommend this book. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

Talkative + Grunting = Love
I read this book when it was first released and loved it, but over time Audible has become a must, this book is taken to another level by Anneliese Rennie and Austin Barringer, Anneliese brings Leelo to life and for me has the maturity this character needs, she gives you a women tying to find herself and challenging everything she was before, she's an inspiration to the mature lady. Austin is brilliant his voice is deep strong and sexy, and is so right for Roars voice, he's funny caring and get with his hands.
Two people not looking for love find it through the challenges that life throws at them, it also describes this beautiful area making me want to visit. You have love, laughter, intrigue, family and life threatening events throughout this book just brilliant. A fantastic read.
