Summary

He swore he’d never date another artist, but what about the one who got away?

Alpha Luke Carter is a successful lawyer, but after his last serious boyfriend left him on their anniversary, he’s turned into a workaholic.

Omega Jay Collins is a struggling artist. Barely making ends meet, he’s recently become homeless… just as he lands the gallery show of a lifetime.

When they run into each other at an art show, sparks fly. Luke knows better, but he just can’t stop thinking about getting the sexy omega back into his bed. A night of celebratory passion leads to unexpected consequences....

In this 77,000-word omegaverse/gay paranormal romance, two men get their second chance at love and learn the value of family. Deeply descriptive and sexual scenes make this non-shifter alpha/omega male pregnancy romance suitable for adults only.

as good as the ebook

The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening, but not more then twice a year.
it's like a B

From rags to riches...

Jay is an Omega struggling to make ends meet. He comes from a well to do family, just left out. Luke is the Alpha with too many bad relationships with artists. But Jay is an artist... there’s a lot going on from the time they meet until they get together. I enjoyed the narration and the way they end up. HEA for Jay!

Brilliant

This was brilliant, I really enjoyed listening to this book and following Jay as he realised his full potential and meets back up with Luke. They have some family problems to sort through. The narrator brings the story to life.

Story flowed seamlessly

I was invested in this book from the first word to the last. I was delighted to discover that I own the book too, so when I couldn't listen, I could read instead!

I loved the slow build to Jay and Luke becoming lovers again. The wait made the actuality even better! The descriptive writing drew me in, whether it be about Jay's paintings, the "brothers", smells, colours...I actually forgot that there were two authors as the story flowed so seamlessly.

I must admit that I did get confused by all of the frat brothers and their different personalities to start with. The two that stood out for me were Teddy and Cody, so I will definitely continue with the series.

I also didn't see the second "romance" coming until well over halfway through the book. That was definitely a bonus!

The narration by Aleks Esquire is carefully spoken and thus very clear. It perhaps does lack in excitement at certain times. Nevertheless, I had no problem in hearing every word, despite being somewhat hard of hearing.

Not A Good Love Story + To Long.

This story could have been so much better. It had potential, but, I wouldn't call this a true love story. First of all, the main characters relationship as kids was just an attraction not them being in love. If the author would have given them a strong love, and connection, as kids, then maybe I could have appreciated their reconnection as adults, but I couldn't. No real connection at all. + it took waaaaay to long for the story to take off, and when it finally did, it was vapid. So, many uninteresting things that could have been left out. One good thing was, the narration, the narrator did a wonderful job bringing all the characters to life, even with an unfulfilling story.😔

second chance

Greed. money grubbing. backstabbing beyrayals abound. Dark twisted greed fuels most of the motives. It's a miracle that Jay and Luke could connect under the circumstances. My heart hurt for both of them, because they were so precious and deserved the best for themselves and each other. I was elated when Jay won the court case!!!
All the reveals at the end- extraordinary!! I'm still processing it all! Wow! The narrator did a great job. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this story and am giving an honest review.

A definite re- listen!

I absolutely love this book. I’ve read this book multiple times now and still can’t get enough. The alpha is a bit of an idiot at times, but it doesn’t get tedious or annoying and he redeemed himself in the end.
The narrators is a great job with this book, making it come to life. He has a pleasant voice and gave the characters suiting voices.

And Baby Makes 3!!!

Loved this book! It’s a truly funny and sweet love story between Jay a down and out artist and Luke a successful lawyer that’s recently been dumped by his artist/lover and housemate. Luke and Jay are part of a large boisterous group of college fraternity brothers. The group is all very close to each other and any number of them can be involved in some sort of mischief or helping each other with other life issues. Loved this book! Luke swears he’s done with love or at least he thinks/says he is to everyone. Jay has been abandoned by his family and has been working at scrapping by with his art. When an offbeat art gallery owner decides to give Jay his own show. This show is where he reconnects with a couple of fraternity brothers of which Luke has been dragged by one of his buddies. A brief summer fling back when they were both still in college lead to Jay becoming homeless and Luke’s heart battered and bruised.

Luke and Jay’s journey to a HEA has many obstacles for these two men to work through. Love, trust, suspense, and laughter can be found in this book. The story of these two men has several twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages eager to “see” how they slowly and sweetly come together. I know that you will enjoy this story as much as I did so get your copy today.

Great feel good story

Having not read any of this series I wasn't sure what I was getting into.
But I simple loved it.
This was a very slow build, which now a days you can't find anymore. And I really enjoyed. I liked how both guys had issues but neither one had to be picked up by the other, they both were doing okay by time they found re-found each other.
That the outside support system of friends and works really works with this story and I can wait to read each of those tales.

The narrator did an amazing job not just capturing each voice but getting the feeling involved. Hope we get to hear him again in the rest of the series.

Luke & Jay

Luke is mired in his work and breaking up with his most recent Omega drives him further away from friends and relationships. He hangs on to his misery for years. Jay is wonderful, trying his hardest to make a life for himself. I loved his part of the story.

Love this series!!

Another slam dunk from the Bates Brothers - for once I felt more sympathy for the Alpha Luke than Omega Jay....poor Luke was such a lost soul ignoring the best possible future right in front of him

Second Chance Romance

This is a long story with over 400 pages, and almost 9 hours of audio. Narrator Aleks Esquire makes it a very pleasant read.

Luke and Jay, our teenaged MCs, are forcefully separated by Jay's greedy, homophobic step-father. When they are caught kissing, Luke is banned from the property, but Jay is disowned and thrown out of his home.

Ten years later, Jay and Luke are reunited far from their hometown. Fate has given them a second chance.

Secondary characters give this story a depth and richness that makes it easy to reread and listen to over and over.
