In The Way of Integrity, Beck presents a four-stage process that anyone can use to find integrity, and with it, a sense of purpose, emotional healing, and a life free of mental suffering. Much of what plagues us - people pleasing, staying in stale relationships, negative habits - all point to what happens when we are out of touch with what truly makes us feel whole. Inspired by The Divine Comedy, Beck uses Dante's classic hero's journey as a framework to break down the process of attaining personal integrity into small, manageable steps.

Throughout history, there's been one indelible quality that great leaders, makers, artists and fighters have shared. The Zen Buddhists described it as inner peace, the Stoics called it ataraxia and Ryan Holiday calls it stillness: the ability to be steady, focussed and calm in a constantly busy world. This quality, valued by every major school of thought from Buddha to Seneca, John Stuart Mill to Nietzsche, is urgently necessary today. And, Holiday shows, it is entirely attainable.

Summary
Michael A. Singer, author of The Untethered Soul, tells the extraordinary story of what happened when, after a deep spiritual awakening, he decided to let go of his personal preferences and simply let life call the shots. As Singer takes you on this great experiment and journey into life's perfection, the events that transpire will both challenge your deepest assumptions about life and inspire you to look at your own life in a radically different way.
Spirituality is meant to bring about harmony and peace. But the diversity of our philosophies, beliefs, concepts, and views about the soul often leads to confusion. To reconcile the noise that clouds spirituality, Michael Singer combines accounts of his own life journey to enlightenment - from his years as a hippie-loner to his success as a computer program engineer to his work in spiritual and humanitarian efforts - with lessons on how to put aside conflicting beliefs, let go of worries, and transform misdirected desires. Singer provides a road map to a new way not of living in the moment but to exist in a state of perpetual happiness.

Best book I've read in years
Friday night 2 weeks ago I began reading the paperback. Within hours I'd purchased it on audible as I couldn't 'get it in me faster enough' by reading alone; instead I imbibed it whilst showering, driving, cooking, everywhere. The addict in me was hopelessly hooked. Over the weekend I CONSUMED IT in ways I've rarely done with other books. I was totally compelled by Michael, his authenticity, his beautiful way of living and the power of his message. Before Sunday night was done I must have relistened to the final paragraph of the last page more than 50 times!! There was something about it that was so profoundly balming and calming to my psyche, body, heart and spirit, I needed it like I needed air to breathe. The more I listened the saner I felt; things inside me began to become quieter. I find this intriguing given I already meditate twice daily, have done for years, exercise daily and am mentally well adjusted.
The entire unfolding was a perfect example of how when the student is ready the teacher appears. Interestingly the book has layed on my shelf for the past 9 months untouched - the moment was clearly perfect, as it always is.
Within 4 days I'd got LIVING YOUR LIFE FROM A PLACE OF SURRENDER 8 session Course (purchasable from Sounds True) and am almost finished my first round of listening, once complete I'll go back through to really work the material.
Oprah, Anthony and Jade Robbins are followers of Michael, it's no surprise.
If you desire greater mental calm and peace then this is HOW.
When you're done with trying to make life confirm to your terms and are ready to align your will with Life's, to SURRENDER and 'let go' to a loving Intelligence and Perfection that supports you every moment of every day, then this is HOW.
When joy, excitement and freedom become too valuable to compromise, then this is HOW.
Don't take my word for it; follow your guidance which has brought you to read this, to take the next step and give yourself this life changing gift. Michael is a living breathing Genius, the Embodiment of LOVE, Humility and Possibility, let him entertain and inspire you every step of the way. Deep gratitude Michael for the gift of your life's work. Much love and respect

A story for the privileged hippie
If you listen to this you'll hear the words "MY meditation" 3479837894 times. It's a pleasant narration however the story comes off as the egoistical ramblings of a privileged white male. In summary, the surrender experiment someone who takes no responsibility for anything. He can do this, as he has ready access to education, used his parents money to buy land, mingled with the privileged and on and on. He is so consumed with self he only wants to meditate. Constantly. He puts no effort into getting his PhD.... This is passed off as surrender. In any language, it's winging it. He can do this, as he has nothing to loose. He is so focused on the self, everyone and everything else is a distraction. This is a story of someone completely divorced from reality. Not worth your money.

read the untethered soul
this is an autobiography of a successful billionaire. I like the first half it shows singer surrendered to what is and the spiritual life from a young age. however the untethered soul is an incredible book that gives insight into awareness of your inner being. I am not really interested in the story of singers success although obviously impressive.

A good read - at least for the first half
I totally believe in the core message of this which is to surrender to the ‘now’, whatever it is that is being thrown at you, and I particularly enjoyed the first half which was more heavily spiritually orientated. The latter half was more focused on a legal case which provided deep personal challenges for the author but in itself was less relevant in terms of spiritual messaging beyond the core message and ‘miracle’ based text. I was left with a question as to whether this latter subject matter dominance was used as a means of getting the authors truth out into the public domain (ie ‘for the avoidance of doubt’) and raises a question in itself about the role the ego may still be playing. Still worth a read. The authors other book, the untethered soul, is very much worth reading.
