About this listen

Samuel Hoenig answers questions for a living. And as a man with Asperger's syndrome, his unique personality helps him ferret out almost any answer there is. But his latest question is a rather odd one: who stole a preserved head from the Garden State Cryonics Institute?

Arriving at the scene of the crime accompanied by his new colleague, Ms. Washburn, Samuel finds that what started out as a theft has escalated to murder. With suspects and motives emerging at a rapid rate, one final question remains: can Samuel's powers of deduction uncover a killer in the face of overwhelming odds?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Would definitely recommend. I loved the interaction between the hero and the leading women.

What other book might you compare The Question of the Missing Head to, and why?

This was described as what the protagonist of "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night" would do as an adult and it was just that.

Any additional comments?

I hope this is the first of many. A joy to listen to.

More please!

I like Samuel, Ms Washburn and Mrs Hoenig...as they all bring something to the story in their own right.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

When Samuel knew something was wrong with Ms Washburn.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laugh.

Any additional comments?

This is one series that I will continue to follow...just like all of E. J. Copperman/Jeff Cohen books. They are all a delight to read!

I enjoyed this mystery from start to finish.

This was a very nice surprise, good characters and superbly narrated. Narrated at a cracking pace, I will certainly listen to more.

Mark Boyett gives you a good performance. Pace is good. Clear diction and distinct characters. He must be a goto for a New Jersey accent.

The protagonist is on Aspergers spectrum and, a lot like The Good Doctor, has focus talents along with the social deficits. The result is very Leonard Nimoy as Spock. Not knowing sufficient about the condition I cannot comment. But it works well for the most part.

The plot I found entertaining with a couple of unlikely moments. But they did not spoil the tale once swallowed. The concept of a secure cryogenic vault as a locked room mystery is new to me. I spotted a telegraphed clue and so could be ahead of the investigator. Ancillary characters are not bad. Occasionally need fleshing out.

This is The Rosie Project meets Sherlock. Excellent story & Samuel Hoenig is a fantastic protagonist, a great exploration of Aspergers & a good mystery to boot. Frozen heads, family tension & a bumbling police detective. Recommend.

Quite Briliant
