Summary

Matt Lancaster is the star quarterback at Bodine College, a small Southern Division II school with an ultra-conservative dean of athletics. Matt is also very much in the closet, and he thinks he’s kept his secret well hidden, until his best friends take him to a happy endings massage parlor and request a male masseuse for him.

In walks Trevor Kim, a gorgeous, pierced, tattooed fellow Bodine student who does massages - without happy endings - to pay for school after his family kicked him out for being gay. Trevor takes one look at Matt and breaks all his own rules about mixing business with pleasure.

Matt needs to keep his scholarship, win the National Championship, and survive his asshole father. Instead, he falls in love. Trevor needs to accept that the football god is meant to end up with him rather than a perky cheerleader. It’s time for a "happily ever after" for both of them.

Loved the story all the way

It’s great to have an affirming story written with humour emotions and sufficient potential trauma as well as read in a way that so well fit in with the book. I laughed loads much to the amusement of people around as I listened on my head phones. Also shed a few tears of emotions too

Great voice, good story if slightly overdone 👍

the voice acting makes it, even if the storyline is very obvious I enjoyed that it was from a sports perspective and the characters are reasonably likable despite their lack of development over the course the book. it's a nice feel good book 😁

Cheesy, cliche but lovable.

It's not a particularly original storyline, but it has enough charm and likeable characters to pull it off well. There are some powerful and intense moments which certainly kept me hooked, and I was never bored listening to the melodic voice of the narrator as I delved into this feel-good, fast-paced book. There is romance, passion, but also excitement and tension as you journey with the quarterback from shame to pride as he learns to accept (and enjoy) himself!

Surprisingly good...

It could be considered a cliche, but it avoids that, with thoughtful writing, and the spoken performance is excellent, catching the different voices well.

The fact it’s a good story means we have a way to go to reach equality, but this helps on that journey, I’d recommend listening.

Absolutely Adorable

This books was way too cute. A closeted quarterback and a sassy massuse. I loved the characters Matt and Trevor , I loved their chemistry and I loved that Trevor did not play the role of damsel in distress. I also appreciated Matt's gradual coming out and acceptance of himself. George did a good job potraying the emotions of the characters and the ascent was on point too. highly recommend.

Wow!!!!

I absolutely thoroughly enjoyed this story. I would have loved to have read this book, but for some reason it's not available, only available in audio. However, I loved the narrators voice. really easy to listen to, I was quite disappointed for the story to end. Loved this book, I will definitely buy when available again.

Romantic and Steamy

Most gay romance novels are either romantic or steamy. This was both! the gay sex was even believable.

Perfection! Just the right mix of everything

It's not often I want to give 5 stars. Usually, something slightly annoying prevents it, not this time. Some may argue the story is too perfect and I would counter and say "things can work out in this cynical world we live in". No new territory covered here, but the cast of characters have almost equal voices in Matt and Trevor's story. Friends behave like friends and people in love behave like people in love.

I think you would be hard-pressed to find something wrong with this story. Just enjoy it for what it is.

Great writing paired with the perfect Narration!

I love this author already… I have always loved audible, as a matter of fact I’ve left cable television completely because of it. I would spend money on more of this authors works. Parts of the book had me cracking up laughing. Such a believable story line. Awesome writing brought to life with the perfect pairing. Thank you McKenzie Blair and Greg Boudrreaux

Please let there be a spin-off/sequel planned!

So much fun! Funny, angsty (goodness the angst!), and just plain adorable—I highly enjoyed this book. The narrator did a fantastic job as always, and I can’t wait to see what Mackenzie Lee comes up with next. Hopefully a sequel/ spin-off for some of the supporting characters?? *Cough*cough* Drew *cough* *cough* O’Donnell.

Great story

My only disappointment with this story was how it ended. The character development was excellent within a great plot. I get that this was probably written as a stand alone book, but I would like to see a continuation of this story.

Never Thought I Would Read a Book Like This

I never expected in a million years to enjoy reading a book like this. I loved it! Pretty good story line, if you can suspend disbelief just a bit (which you expect to do with a novel like this). Good mix of angsty broody and lovey sexy.
