Summary
Five years after this sleeper hit took on the world of IT and flipped it on its head, the fifth anniversary edition of The Phoenix Project continues to guide IT in the DevOps revolution. In this newly updated and expanded edition of the best-selling The Phoenix Project, co-author Gene Kim includes a new afterword and a deeper delve into the Three Ways as described in The DevOps Handbook.
Bill, an IT manager at Parts Unlimited, has been tasked with taking on a project critical to the future of the business, code named Phoenix Project. But the project is massively over budget and behind schedule. The CEO demands Bill must fix the mess in 90 days, or else Bill’s entire department will be outsourced.
With the help of a prospective board member and his mysterious philosophy of the Three Ways, Bill starts to see that IT work has more in common with manufacturing plant work than he ever imagined. With the clock ticking, Bill must organize work flow, streamline interdepartmental communications, and effectively serve the other business functions at Parts Unlimited.
In a fast-paced and entertaining style, three luminaries of the DevOps movement deliver a story that anyone who works in IT will recognize. Listeners will not only learn how to improve their own IT organizations, they’ll never view IT the same.

Deeply amazed
As a one of development process people, I can relate to this book so much! Listening to the book while commuting to and from work and then spending working hours in an evironment that was similar to the one in a book (hopefully, a much more successful, thou) it made me feel like in a continuous reading...or working. Story is presented in a tastefull way, I was enjoying it a lot. Worth listening if you are new in a field or just want to get a sneak peak of what struggles do IT people face.

Awesome book
Great story, really interesting read.
I started reading it to learn about devops and how to apply lean practise... And because someone recommended it to me.
But it's actually really well written and I couldn't stop reading it. Always wanted to keep reading.

Translates 'The Goal' into a digital framework
Read to E. Goldratt's 'The Goal' first. This makes it work for digital businesses. Excellent.

Great insight into IT infrastructure in large organisation, and a good fun story to boot
When I saw the length of the audiobook I was somewhat daunted, but within the first couple of chapters I was absolutely hooked and found every opportunity I could to listen in.
It's very well narrated, technically accurate, a great story all round. Very inspiring too, which is something I look for in any books I read or listen to.
I was left feeling excited and motivated to take some of the tips they use in the book into my own business.
Thoroughly recommend a listen to anyone in the technology entrepreneur space.
I wouldn't recommend this if you're not really into technology/IT though, for the uninitiated it might seem a bit overwhelming.

I liked it
Suited the way I think ... helped me to formalize some of my thinking and signpost me with comprehending context. I'm scoring based on what I get out of it rather than against objective standards / metrics. It was enjoyable and gratifying.
