Nietzsche never recovered from his mental breakdown in 1889 and therefore was unable to further any plans he had for the ‘magnum opus’ he had once intended, bringing together in a coherent whole his mature philosophy. It was left to his close friend Heinrich Köselitz and his sister Elizabeth Förster-Nietzsche to go through the remaining notebooks and unpublished writings, choosing sections of particular interest to produce The Will to Power, giving it the subtitle An Attempted Transvaluation of All Values.

Once upon a time, if an official stole money, there wasn't much he could do with it. If he kept stealing, the money would just pile up in his house until he had no rooms left to put it in, or it was eaten by mice. And then some bankers in London had a bright idea.

Our attention has never been as overwhelmed or in demand as it is today; we've never been so busy while accomplishing so little, and we've grown uncomfortable with boredom and a lack of stimulation and distraction. In Hyperfocus, Chris Bailey - described by TED.com as 'the most productive man you could ever hope to meet' - provides profound insights into how we can best manage our attention. He reveals how the brain switches between two mental modes - hyperfocus, our deep concentration mode, and scatterfocus, our creative, reflective mode - and how the surest path to being our most creative and efficient selves at work is to combine them both.

There's a lot to learn...
As someone of average intelligence, who has worked in finance my whole life, I didn't realise just how little I knew about the world of trading. There is an awful lot to learn and, I'll be completely honest, this book has put me off a bit.
I guess I thought I could open an online account, deposit some money and 'play'. Maybe I'd win some and those gains would cover the losses. Whatever, it would be great fun!
No.
There are so many choices to make even before you start trading that the 'fun' or 'exciting' element I was hoping for seems a long was away. The starting costs are inhibitive and really seem to stack the odds on making no money at all.
Costs to set-up, costs to deposit, costs to buy, costs to sell, costs to transfer, costs to withdraw...until I invest in a winner I'm going to be out of pocket for quite some time.
Now that's not to say I didn't enjoy the book or the style of delivery, quite the opposite. The Story element at the very beginning brought a big smile to my face. The passion and knowledge of the text is plain to see and I thought the book was read rather well indeed. I think the problem is that I was hoping for a simple introduction to the world of trading and it's going to be a lot more complicated than I first thought.
I would still recommend this book, however.

A great intro to trading...
I have bought a few books on trading in the hope of doing it successfully, and I havent got further than the first few pages. I am not much of a reader so it has to be interesting or I put it down and dont pick up again! Then I bought this book which is great - I was reading it while commuting on the tube. Its so easy to read and follow that even on a packed swealtering tube I could concentrate on it. Not only that but its really funny, despite being about shares! then I changed jobs so didnt need to get the tube so I only got half way through and so bought the audio book to finish off the experience whilst driving! Its balanced and informative and easy to follow. The author does use it to plug his own website etc, but who wouldnt if they had a massive captive audience and thought they could make a bit more dosh - he is obviously clever and commercially minded and so I am very happy to learn from him! Overall its a great book & would highly recommend!

Perfect introduction to Share-Trading
I was new to share trading and was recommended this book to read. Being a lazy so-n-so I got the audiobook instead to listen to on the train. I have to say its very informative about a difficult subject as well as being very entertaining. After listening to this book for the 2nd time I felt sufficiently confident to try share trading for myself.
This audiobook is definitely aimed at the novice but contains gems of wisdom packaged in many humourous chapters. The impression is that all of his knowledge has come from painful first-hand experience which gives this more authenticity.
This is definitely the first audiobook any novice share trader should listen to BEFORE doing any actual trading.

The Naked Trader: Second Edition
An absolute must for anyone who is thinking of investing in shares. Robbie Burns is extremeley knowledgable and relays this knowledge in a simple and understandable format. He outlines potential pit falls and common school boy errors. What makes this work even more appealing is his honesty. Robbie shares invaluable resources in the book that are essential when embarking on this particular journey, such as books and websites. A great read/listen. I highly recommend this book. I have gained knowledge for under a tenor, that would have cost me thousands in some of the seminars or courses that are out there.

A book which is full of so much common sense on how to get started. He explains in plain English the mysteries of how stock markets work. Robbie Burns spells out the common mistakes.. errors of judgment that newbies and some who are not so new make.
Having the audio version is also a big plus. You can simply replay until all the key points that you need to know coalesce inside your brain before you get going. Well worth the money

Great beginners book
Good and easily to understand audio book which explains Robbie Burns own methods and straightforward no nonsense approach to equity investment. I have been trading equities for 10 years and I am sure, had I started reading or listening to this book, I would have saved myself a few mistakes along the way and started out with a better background knowledge about the stock market.
However one of the drawbacks are the stock charts. Even the best explanation is no match for seeing the charts with your own eyes. I must admit, at times I had a hard time to picture exactly how the charts looked like.

Jakob

So Good I Bought the Paper Version
Having listened to The Naked Trader 2nd Ed. several times, I was compelled to buy the hard copy so that I could study the charts and content more closely. I have, over the years, read and accumulated 13 books on trading shares and other financial gizmos, but this one helped me to get a far more tangible grasp of the money playground. I have read books by USA authors, picking up the jargon and a modicum of inspiration. However, Mr NT has nailed it for me on two fronts:
(a)it relates to the UK scene
(b)it's a plain talking, non-stuffy well informed approach.
Not to mention the frivolous humor, which 'makes the medicine go down in the most delightful way.'
As a one time share owner of BAA flotation shares for all of two days, and a tidy profit too, I now feel armed to embark on some more extensive and well informed investing - one step at a time.
Having both the audio and printed versions of this book is fantastic, I must have listened to the entire book at least 4 times and re-listened to the most juicy chapters 6 or 7 times over. Needless to say I have become a more avid and lengthy dog walker as a spin off to this endeavor. I am now sifting through the book for further consolidation of my understanding.
Initially I thought the narrator was Mr NT himself, but research reveals that it is the voice of David Ryder - a brilliant choice and a narrator of 12 books on Audible. I hope if I ever scrape together some 'spare' cash to attend one of Robbie Burns' training seminars, that I will not be disappointed if he has the voice of a somewhat lesser mortal - no offense Robbie!

This gives you all of the basics you need to get going and there are some interesting hints and tips in there too. I enjoyed this but there is that stuffy old man inside of me that thinks talking about toast in a finance book damages credibility... It doesn't, it's just me being a grumpy old man!

Skip It...
What did you like best about The Naked Trader? What did you like least?
I didn't like anything about this book. I Hated It..
Would you ever listen to anything by Robbie Burns again?
Never Again.
How could the performance have been better?
Focus more on the subject, less on tea and toast, and stop Trying to be witty.
Who do you think would benefit most from listening to The Naked Trader?
Perhaps British folks who can tolerate his humor.
Any additional comments?
A very British book written by a very British Author. Perhaps the Brits can appreciate this book but this American could have done better buying something else. Full of British colloquialisms. There does appear to be some useful information, but not at all worth what I paid for it.

What a gem!
I felt I was taking a bit of a chance on this one (I'm not English and I don't trade on the FTSE), but what a great listen this turned out to be. The material in this book is so practical (some would say obvious but I don't agree). There are no hidden catches and he definitely paints the picture warts and all. It is filled with practical advice and 'real' examples of traps and pitfalls... all the time compelling me to trade smart. Thanks Robbie, you're a POM, but nice work!

Dated, not very useful for the American Markets.
A british book written around 1997. Not enough discussion of the American stock markets to be useful to a US trader.
