The white-washed Italian villa is perfect. I thought it might feel odd, living in a stranger’s house for the summer, but as my husband and children swim in the infinity pool, I start to relax. And then, in the back of a wardrobe, I find something that shatters everything.... Sparkling green eyes, square jaw, lopsided smile. A young man with his arm around a beautiful woman. The picture is old and faded, but I’d recognize him anywhere. The man is my husband.

Utter rubbish
I bought this after reading the excellent reviews. I can't believe they were listening to the same book. It was utter drivel. I wanted to stop listening after about 1/3 of the way in and realising that nothing was happening but I kept listening due to the reviews. There are no unpredictable twists. It is totally dull, the characters are not likeable or well developed. The story is boring and predictable. Child and husband disappear, oh surprise, the wife knows more than she let's on. Narrator is average.
Do not bother. Total and utter waste of life.
Most of the book is pointless padding leading you to the big revelation at the end. Which isn't.

Too short but oh....
I wasn't sure where the plot was headed a few times as I was listening and before I knew it the plot peaked and it was over. Boom. Surprise ending. Not enough time to get excited or come up with a few possible theories which I like to do when I'm reading a book like this. I was entertained but for all the wrong reasons.

Holding onto hope
I just purchased this book and was excited to get started. Then I started reading the reviews. Please, please, please... if you are going to write a review with spoilers, MENTION IT IN THE TITLE OF YOUR REVIEW!!!!!! There is a review below titled something like "I hate this kind of book", that totally ruins the book if you have not started it. Now I am listening to the book and all I can think about is how the twist is pretty much ruined for me since reading this persons review. If you have yet to listen to this book, I urge you not to read the negative reviews as it will ruin the plot for you. If this review could be taken down, I think it would be great help to anyone who has not listened yet. I will update my review of this book once I am finished. I really hope I enjoy it still regardless of the ending being spoiled.

Please I’m begging you do not waste the credit on this book
I am literally swamped with deadlines and don’t have the time to do a review but this book was so poorly written in terms of the storyline that I had to quickly voice text a warning for others not to waste their credit this was so sophomoric, stretched out and the Author did a really sloppy job with trying to tie up everything in the epilogue.

Hate these kinds of books
I really feel insulted when a writer has their character simply lie to the listener throughout the entire book. Oh wow, what a twist......oh right well we were lying the entire time. 😂 ugggg. The story itself was so slow and there were times that it lagged tremendously but the narrator did a good job of keeping momentum, then to find out it was all BS anyway. Give me a break
