Summary

Horror is what Dan Law enjoys. He loves to read horror novels as a way to escape from his teaching job, from his loneliness, from the everyday dullness of life in Silver Lake. That’s what Dan lives for. When a new bookstore opens in town, every visitor receives a free book of their own. A book that tells their own personal story...a story they have to follow to the brutal end. As Silver Lake’s population descends into violent savagery, Dan finds he is no longer living for horror novels - he’s living inside one.

Keeps you interested. Gory though be warned!

Really enjoyed the narration, intriguing little tale and kept me curious. It’s like it was written just for me, a story just for me!

Gruesome

This was probably the most ridiculous book I’ve ever read/listened to, but I did enjoy it. It was very descriptive on all the hideous acts of murder and violence and at times I actually laughed out loud!

Good story

I enjoyed the book overall, the story kept me engaged and I wanted to know what happened next.
The last 1/3 of the book felt rushed though and the ending was disappointing.
That said, overall I very much enjoyed this title

Poor man’s King

Not the worst horror I’ve read but certainly not the best. I listened to the end and up to a point , it provided me with a certain measure of entertainment. It owes much to a certain Mr.King, with a huge nod to Needful Things. The finale was rushed and it felt like the author had run out of ideas and wanted to get it done.

Quite good

I actually enjoyed this book. Wasn’t as gory as I was led to believe but still enjoyable. I listened to it in a day while doing art work as I’ve been sick week. Worth a listen

Really good listen

Similar to Stephanie King in storytelling. An abundance of characters and well detailed events. Some graphic horror and gore. Reminded me of Under the Dome when the town descends into chaos. I’m now listening to other books by the author.

a specific type of taste

Like psychological small-town horror, look no further! Especially if you like a sprinkling of gruesome descriptions.
