There’s plenty of coffee in the book!
Yep, there’s plenty of coffee in the book! Our Captain makes sure of that!
It’s lovely to hear in Captain Janeway’s own words the story of her life, how she grew up & what happened to her before Voyager.
It’s also great to hear her thoughts and feelings of their time in the Delta quadrant, what happened there & their journey home.
It’s reminded me of a few episodes that I want to go back and rewatch.
The last couple of chapters really add to the story of The End Game, so that as the reader/listener we feel like we see more of what happened to the crew after their return home.
Especially great that it’s read by the Captain herself, aka Kate Mulgrew. Really well presented and really enjoyable.

Loved this!
I absolutely loved listening to Kate Mulgrew bring Kathryn Janeway to life again after recently watching the Star Trek Voyager series for the first time.
Una McCormack deserves big kudos for this as she captures this well-beloved character and captain with crystal clear accuracy, first with the account of Janeway's home and family life, later extending into her experiences at the Star Fleet Academy and her first commissions about star ships before she took up her position of Captain aboard Voyager.
In this autobiography one learns about Kathryn Janeway not only as one of Star Trek's best known and best loved characters, but also as a daughter, sister, aunt, partner, friend, mentor and leader. She is human, first and foremost, and with all her admirable qualities that mark her as exceptional she is also prone to weaknesses and imperfections and a number of regrets along the way.
Fans will probably love this, and I know I will most probably go back for another listen before too much time has passed. An excellent, compelling, addictive listen - I can't recommend this highly enough to fans of Star Trek in general, or Voyager in particular.

Subtle and introspective
This was a very different experience to my expectations, but I've loved it just the same. It focuses much more on Janeway's early life than I was expecting, but delivered with Kate Mulgrew's iconic delivery as now Admiral Janeway it's been a joy to listen to, written with a deep understanding of the character, and touches on many points that will be of great interest to Voyager fans. Well worth a listen.

So Happy To Have Kate Mulgrew Read “Her” Story
I read the Kindle version of this book when it first came out and loved it. I was so excited to see the autobiography of Captain Kathryn Janeway available as an audiobook; added to my excitement was the fact that Kate Mulgrew was narrating the book and it was wonderful to listen to it with her voice. She did a perfect job of course, because nobody else could be the Captain of Voyager.

Great narrator, terrible story.
It was great that Kate Mulgrew came on board to narrate this, though after listening to the story, I wish she hadn't. It's full of massive plot holes and completely skips over Janeway's time as a first officer while butchering Tuvok's backstory. It seems lazily written with little thought given to the character, her journey or her story.

I always loved Captain Janeway, and having the captain herself narrate this was the only way to go. it was like sitting down and listening to Kathryn talk about her life.
Don't expect it to include the newer Voyager relaunch novels, it goes a bit past the end of the show but does not include those novels as canon.

Kate and Kathryn make a terrific team
I was delighted to hear about The Autobiography of Kathryn Janeway. And who else but Kate Mulgrew could have read it. The autobiography was a stellar story that followed Kathryn through her early life, past Voyager's triumphant return to what happened to her and her crew after their homecoming. I enjoyed revisiting old friends and learning more about their time together. I do have a mild rebuke concerning the idyllic great life Kathryn lived. It was hardly believable that anyone's life could be so magnificent, but perhaps life is really significantly different in the 24th century...We can always hope! My final comment is that Kate's reading lacked an emotional connection. She sounded like she was reading a novel, not telling her inspiring life story.

Nice trip down memory lane, but little that is new
I had high hopes for this book, as Una McCormack did such a good job on her prequel novel for the Star Trek Picard series. That book added so much more context and detail to that show, and I hoped this novel would do the same for Star Trek Voyager. Unfortunately, there is not much new here. The novel mostly reviews events from the series without additional insights or details. There was only a small section at the end of the book on what happened to the crew after they arrived back in the Alpha quadrant. The most interesting part was reading about Janeway's career prior to taking command of Voyager. A good book if you want to relive the Voyager series, but that's it.

I'm such a huge fan of Star Trek Voyager, and growing up Kathryn Janeway was an idol for me. What a cool experience to hear about her life before and after Voyager, especially narrated by Kate Mulgrew! I don't think I could've listened to it as an audio book without her telling it. Would definitely recommend if you love the show as much as I do.

Well written and perfectly read. From the beginning to the end I couldn't stop listening. Very big fan here of Star Trek. Voyager is my second favorite show, TNG first, and to hear the stories about this crew again and how they made out afterwards was riveting. I can't wait to hear more read by Janeway herself.

For Star Trek Voyager geeks only
Nice treat for a Star Trek nerd like me, I have seen every Voyager episode several times and this was a great compliment to the series.
That being said, it was rather tedious at some points. There were some parts that just were not put together very well and the writing was basically at a 5th grade level, so for someone that listens to 19th century classics all day it came off as a major step down back to elementary school (I get it why they did that, just hard for me to go that low).
Massive no if your not a Voyager geek, you would be bored to tears and have no idea what your listening to.
Give it a go Trekkies, non trekkies don’t even try.

As a life long fan of Voyager and Kate Mulgrew this book perfectly wrapped up the story of Voyager and gave some very wonderful, if not totally unexpected, punctuation to many stories not told after the season seven finale.
